2025 DHS Junior Students Earn Top 10% Honors

Dexter High School held their Top 10% Ceremony on Monday, March 10, 2025 in the auditorium.  Each year the Dexter Chamber of Commerce co-hosts the event and provides "goodie" bags for the students.

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, each of the students receieved a goodie bag filled with tokens of appreciation. Students will enjoy bowling at Total Pindemonium Dexter Bowl and items from: Bank of Advance, Chris Brannan - State Farm Agent, Delta Realty, LLC, Domino's Pizza, Rhodes 101 Stops, Fitness Connection, and Pepsi Mid-America!

Regular Board Meeting Notes
March 7, 2025

8:00 AM-Special Board Meeting


1,2,3. Call to Order/Roll Call/Pledge:  

The Board President announced the meeting is to begin, ascertains the attendance status of all board members, with Mr. Worley being absent and Mr. Glaus attending by Facetime.  The Board President leads in the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance. 


4.  Old Business:  

A.     There was no old business.  


5.  New Business: 

A.  There was no new business.  


6.  Discussion Items: The following items were discussed with the board:

A There were no discussion items.      


In Closed Session:  

1.  The board approved the following resignations, retirements, and/or recensions:

Megan Miller-Assistant Principal at Central Elementary, effective at the

conclusion of the 24-25 school year.  

Kathryn Ashley-Bus Driver and Paraprofessional, effective dates are 

2/27/25 and 3/4/2025.  

Alex Brotz-Middle School Cheer Coach, effective at the conclusion of the 24-25

school year.  

Rob Scott-5th Grade Teacher, effective conclusion of the 24-25 school year.

2.  The board approved the hiring of the following individuals for the 2025-2026 school year, 

pending a favorable background check and appropriate certification:

Justin Peden-MS Head Football Coach.

Natalie Gargas-MS Assistant Volleyball Coach.

Amanda Galloway–MS Special Services Teacher.  

Rebekah Holt-ECSE Teacher.  

Jessica Marston-MS ELA Teacher.  


3.  The following items were discussed with the board:

*Health Insurance.

*School will not be in session on April 2, 2025 (Song Makers Performance and HS 

baseball both at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.  An announcement will be made to the 

District on Monday via the website, Facebook, and Thrillshare.  

Items at the Conclusion of Executive Session

Bloomfield School Boards Meets, Announces 25-26 Calendar, Resignations and New Hires
The Bloomfield School Board held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, February 10th.  

The Board enjoyed History Day presentations from the middle school and high school!

In open session, the board:
-  reviewed the list of board candidates for the April election. David Clary and Brooke Hayes will be the two candidates for the two open spots on the board.  Since we are running a no tax increase bond extension on the April ballot, the board candidates will be on the same ballot as well.   
-  approved a resolution for Proposition A press release.  This will officially kick off our campaign to pass a NO TAX INCREASE bond extension for the April ballot.  
-  approved the 2025-26 school calendar.  
-  approved 2025 summer school dates.  Elementary and MS will go from May 19 - June 9, and high school will go from May 19 - June 16. 
-  approved the changes to the upcoming board meetings.  The March board meeting will be held on March 18th at 6:00 pm.  The May board meeting will be held on May 12th.  A budget work session will begin at 7:00 am, and the regular board meeting will begin at 8:15 am.  

The board heard reports from all three building principals.  

In the Superintendent's report, Karnes gave an update on the district's CSIP, as well as a legislative update.  

In closed session, the board:
- accepted resignation of Jennifer Bolin, Elementary Principal, effective at the end of the school year.  
- hired Katrina Prance as Elementary Principal for the 2025-26 school year.   
- hired Maddy Ringer as MS Softball Head coach for this spring.  
- hired Summer Crowder for PreK- 12 Librarian for the 2025-26 school year. 
- hired Mikayla Harris as MS/HS Math Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. 
- extended the contracts of Mr. Keith (HS Principal), Mrs. Karnes (MS Principal), and Mrs. Vaughn (Special Education Director).
