In Memory of Donald Clay Bryant

Donald Clay Bryant, son of Judy Holsapple Lee and Dennis Lee of Dexter, Missouri and Kenneth Bryant of Mobile, Alabama, was born on January 31, 1972, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and departed this life on January 21, 2025, at his residence in Advance, Missouri, at the age of 52 years.


Mr. Bryant worked in construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, football, playing on his traveling men’s softball team, and taking care of Shannon’s chickens.


On March 10, 2020, in Jackson, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Shannon Corlew Nelson. Mrs. Bryant survives of their home in Advance.


Along with his wife and parents, he is survived by his daughter, Abbey Ellis and husband Jaycob of Dexter, Missouri; by two step-sons, Samuel Nelson and Nathan Nelson both of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by his step-daughter, Erin Nelson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by his brother, Jason Bryant of Dexter, Missouri; by two sisters, Debbie Wilkerson and husband Andy of Puxico, Missouri, and Robin Stuckey and husband Denver of Benton, Missouri; by his half-sister, Amber Bryant of Denham Springs, Louisiana; and by his granddaughter, Grayson Ellis.


Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Stevens officiating.


Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.
