In Memory of Joyce Ann Hatton

Joyce Ann Hatton, daughter of the late D A “Doc” Helm and Opal Burns was born on October 1, 1944 in Monroe, Louisiana and departed this life on October 25, 2024 at her residence in Dexter at the age of 80.


Mrs. Hatton had worked in the offices for Piggly Wiggly and Town and Country. She retired from Overturf Drug Store. She was a member of Liberty Hill Church in Aid. She enjoyed decorating with flowers, and gardening. She loved to be with her family and support her grandchildren in the activities they participated in.


On January 21, 1971 she was united in marriage to Bill Hatton in Pensacola, Florida. Mr. Hatton survives of their home in Dexter.


Other than by her husband she is survived by two sons, Billy Hatton and wife Carrie of Paragould, Arkansas, and Tim Hatton of Dexter, Missouri; by her sister, Martha Sikes and husband Jerry of Monroe, Louisiana; and by four grandchildren, Ian Lane Hatton and wife Alison of Paragould, Arkansas, Griffin Shaw Hatton and wife Scout of Brookland, Arkansas, Keller Christian Hatton and Marlie Grace Hatton both of Dexter, Missouri.


Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carrie Hatton.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Preston Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter cemetery.


Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting the family with arrangements.
