
Robert Kirkland, son of the late Elmer Kirkland and Alice Flowers Kirkland, was born on September 3, 1930, in Center Ridge, Arkansas, and departed this life on October 19, 2024, at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 94 years.
Mr. Kirkland was a former truck driver and enjoyed building and remodeling houses.
On August 10, 1949, in Piggott, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Shirley Brown. Mrs. Kirkland preceded him in death on October 11, 2006.
He is survived by his son, Mike Kirkland and wife Nancy of Lancaster, South Carolina; by two daughters, Deborah Schott and husband Buck of New Hamburg, Missouri and Cheryl Parker and husband Ricky of Sikeston, Missouri; by his brother, Dwight Kirkland of Center Ridge, Arkansas; and by ten grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harley Kirkland, by two sisters, Martha Maulding and Emmie Freeman; and by two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Steve Francis officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
