Christopher Stephen Tanner, son of the late Fred L. Tanner Sr. and Mary Erma Collier Tanner, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on May 11, 1952 and departed this life at his home in Rural Campbell, Missouri on October 12, 2024 at the age of 72.

Mr. Tanner was a Farmer and Owner/Operator of Fancy Farm and Tanner Seed in Powe, Missouri. He was a member of Bernie Christian Church.

He was united in marriage to Sharon Gay Newton in Campbell, Missouri on January 8, 1999. Mrs. Tanner survives in their home in Campbell.

Other survivors include, three daughters, Cortney Ann Tanner & husband Josh of Piggott, Arkansas, Jayme Denise Harris of Campbell, Missouri and Christin Lynn Hester & husband Lerin of Jackson, Missouri; by one sister-in-law, Sandra Tanner of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by one sister Mary L. Cannon & husband Loy of Dexter, Missouri; by seven grandchildren, Tommy Tran, Jakob Harris, Ella Harris, Stryker Harris, Lincoln Hester, Clair Hester and Jocelyn Morris; also by other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by one brother, Fred L. Tanner Jr.; by one sister, Frances A. Herrin.

Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 P.M. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery. Mathis Funeral Home of Bernie is assisting with all arrangements.
