In Memory of Ronnie Wayne King

Ronnie Wayne King, son of the late Fred King and Sallie Ellis King, was born on May 23, 1949, in Parma, Missouri, and departed this life on October 10, 2024, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 75 years.


Mr. King was a former truck driver for Lemons Landfill and operated a drag line. He was a member of the Bernie General Baptist Church in Bernie, Missouri, and a resident of Essex, Missouri. He enjoyed camping, riding 4-wheelers, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Kimber.


On July 6, 1974, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Karan Babb. Mrs. King survives of their home in Essex.


Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, James King and wife Beckie of Sidney, Arkansas; by his daughter, Peg Rodgers and husband Darin of Dexter, Missouri; by his brother, Ray King of Sikeston, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Shelbie Fryman and husband Jordan, Alan King, and Makenna Rodgers and by his great-grandchild, Halen Fryman.


Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl King, and by his sister, Mary Ethel King.


Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Chalk Bluff Cemetery.


Memorials may be made to 18 Fore Life, C/O Scott Kruse, 705 Laurie Circle, Dexter, Missouri 63841. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.


Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.
