Barbara “Barbie” Lynn Davis, age 54, of Puxico, MO, died Saturday, September 28, 2024 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Mrs. Davis was born August 13, 1970 in Dexter, MO, daughter of the late Garry and Minne Carolyn Rainwater (neé Stanfield).
She was a teacher for over 30 years. Most of her teaching career was at Puxico Schools, and she also taught for a year and a half at Poplar Bluff. She also coached cheerleading and volleyball and was very involved with the basketball program. Barbie truly cared about her students and took on a role of “school mom” to them.
She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother. On June 1, 1991, she married Jeffrey Davis. He survives. Also surviving are two children: Corey Davis of Puxico, MO and Jonathon Garrett Davis of Dexter, MO; one sister: Michelle (Phillip) Garner of Bell City, MO; two sisters-in-law: Janell Stewart and Jennifer (Oliver) McMeans both of Puxico, MO and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother-in-law: Chuck Stewart.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Puxico with Pastor Will Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, MO.
