Saint Francis Healthcare System is pleased to welcome Malary R. Seabaugh, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, to Cape Physician Associates, a Saint Francis Medical Partner.

Seabaugh graduated from Cox College in Springfield, Missouri, in 2023. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and specializes in primary care and family medicine.

Missouri State Federation of Square and Round Dance Meet

The Missouri State Federation of Square and Round Dance held their July state meeting on July 14th at Puxico VFW Hall. 


Dancers from all over the state of Missouri attended this meeting to conduct the business of the state Square and round dance clubs in Missouri. 


The Southeast District sponsored a dance on Saturday night, July 13th that was attended by many dancers.  


Most of these dancers had never been to Puxico. 


Many complemented, that local VfW was a very nice Hall. 


The Puxico Country Squares would like to thank the local VFW for letting them use the hall for the meeting.


Don’t forget to come to the Puxico Homecoming and see the square dancers!

Prayer Walk Set for Sunday, August 18th

The Annual Prayer Walk will be held on the campus of Dexter Public Schools on Sunday, August 18th at 7:30 p.m.

The later time was set in hopes it will be a little cooler at that time.  Please meet at Southwest Elementary.

The entire public is welcome to attend.  You do not have to walk from building to building you can drive on your own.

The Walk will begin at Southwest Elementary, then walk to the High School, Charles Bland Stadium, T.S. Hill Middle School, the Administration Building and finally end at Central Elementary.

Stars & Stripes Museum Paint for a Cause Project

Paint for a Cause - Cape Girardeau, MO will be at the Stars and Stripes Museum on Saturday, July 27 for Occupy Bloomfield-our Civil War event. We will also have a food truck on-site. Come by between 10 am and 4 pm.

A new mural is being created for the Stars & Stripes National Museum and Library in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Anyone, any age any ability can paint a triangle for a $2 donation. Paint will be put on the brush and participants will be shown where to paint.  A journal will be kept listing each painter's name, age, job title, and hometown. Painters can paint in memory or in honor of a military person.

This Paint for a Cause project will be ongoing for a year or more.  The public can stop by Painted Wren Art Gallery during business hours or at the Stars and Stripes Museum when the mural is scheduled to be there.

When this mural is finished, ti will be permanently installed on the big, red barn at the Stars & Stripes. The journal and money raised will go to the Museum.

They are seeking venues to host this project, as well as sponsors for the project.

Painted Wren Art Gallery is located at 620 Whitelaw Avenue in Cape Girardeau.

Little Miss Choo Choo Pageant Hosted by the Berry-Glenn Museum

The Berry-Glenn Historical Museum located in Puxico, Missouri is hosting a benefit Little Miss Choo Choo Pageant on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Veterans Park in downtown Puxico.

You can register every Saturday afternoon from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Berry-Glenn Historical Museum.  There are only two opportunities to register on July 20th and July 27th, so please get in there and sign up!

There are only five categories. Categories are ages 0 - 6 months, 7 to 11 months, 1 year to 23 months, 2 years to 3 years and 4 years to five years. You do not have to live in Puxico to participate.

Entry fee is $30 per contestant and is non-refundable.

This is a casual wear pageant.

Cash only please.  Pageant starts at 10 a.m. and all entries need to be there at 9:30 a.m. to check in.  No late entries will be taken.
