In Memory of Jerry Pauline Nelson

Jerry Pauline Nelson, age 90, died in Fulton, MO on June 3, 2024. Pauline, as she was known to all family and friends, was born in Piggott, Arkansas on April 15, 1934, to Carl F. and Opal Gales.


On July 2, 1956, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Harold Wayne Nelson of Cape Girardeau, MO.


Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her two brothers, Norman Lewis and Donald Ray Gales, and three sisters, Maxine Webb, Peggy Huey and Joan Osbourn.


Pauline lived in Dexter, MO for the majority of her life, moving to Fulton, MO three years ago to be closer to her nieces, Carla O’Neal (Friend, Gus), Liz (Bill) Books and nephew, Andy (Susan) Huey.


She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dexter, MO. She participated in many of the First Baptist Christmas Pageants during her years in Dexter.


Pauline retired from Arvin manufacturing plant in Dexter. During her retirement years she enjoyed playing cards with her many friends.


She is survived by nieces Carla O’Neal, Carol Webb, Liz Books, Julie Busick, Janna Strickland, Robin Woodard, Joann Gales and Kim Gales, and nephews Andy Huey and Carl Gales.


Pauline will be buried in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery beside her late husband. A family graveside ceremony will be conducted at the time of burial.
