
Sheila Nadine LaPlante, daughter of the late Joe Marion Dick and Velma Marie Hawkins was born November 21, 1942 in St. James Bayou, Missouri and departed this life February 8, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 81 years.
At the age of 54, Ms. LaPlante obtained a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine through International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was also licensed Acupuncturist and ran a successful private practice for over 20 years, Acupuncture and Herbal Clinic in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was dedicated to her work and thrived in her profession. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and a resident of East Prairie, Missouri.
She is survived by her son, Mark LaPlante of East Prairie, Missouri; by three daughters, Mischelle LaPlante of East Prairie, Renee Buza of Houston, Texas and Jacqueline Conrad of Jensen Beach, Florida; by her brother, Larry Dick of East Prairie, Missouri; by her sister, Marla Dick Stearnes of East Prairie, Missouri; by ten grandchildren, Micha Haddock, Sean LaPlante, Miles Brown, Ryan Buza, Logan LaPlante, Corey Buza, Montana Brown, Jade Conrad, John Conrad, Alyshia LaPlante and Kylie LaPlante; and by ten great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild.
Other than her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her brother, David Dick.
Private services will be held at a later date.

David William Sander, 75, of Bernie, Missouri, passed away on February 3rd, 2024, at his home.
David was born on December 21st, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Elroy William and Alberta Elizabeth “Betty” (Brazeal) Sander.
David was a traveling man who prided himself as a Soldier, Patriot, and Son of Christ. Vietnam Veteran, Firefighter, Paramedic, and Senior Environment Health Safety Manager were the vocations he championed in his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his youngest brother, Jeff Sander, Sr.; and sisters, Rebecca (Sander) Seay and Paula Sander.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his son, William Sander (Kristina), and Grandchildren Lynde (Sander) Hockaday (Wesley), Colin, Della, and Edward. Great Grandsons Levi, Henry, and Bennette. Brother, Robert Sander (Debbie), nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends at home and abroad.
Graveside military honors will be conducted on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.

Charlotte Irish, 79, born in Bernie, Missouri, went to be with her Lord on February 4, 2024, at her home in Dexter, Missouri.
Charlotte was married to Harvey Irish for 50 years. Together they raised many children together. Surviving Tammy (Life Partner Jeff Venner) Irish, Heather (Ron) Haley, Pam (Dwayne) Pease, Paula (Danny) Jones. Many Bonus Children with special mention of Tina (Marco) Garcia, Theresa (Dale) Ingle, Don (Rosa) Fyfe, and Rebecca (Chris) Graziano. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her sister Barb (Phillip) Putney, and her brother, Bruce Hartline.
She was proceeded in death by parents Fred and Emma Hartline; by her children Bobby Irish and Dawn Link; and by her siblings Mary, Diana Joyce, Harold, Patsy, Jerry, John, and Bob.
Charlotte and Harvey lived in Michigan for over 30 years and would open their home to many, some for a night but forever in their hearts. From homemade bread, delicious cinnamon rolls every Christmas or biscuits and gravy if Charlotte was cooking it was comfort food. She's always been Mom, Grandma, GiGi or Aunt, by blood or not. She would take a van full of people to church then garage sales. She loved thrift shopping and shoes. But most of all she loved her Lord. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery.

Linda Dorris, daughter of the late Troy Meledo Eaker and Leathel Shell Eaker, was born October 17, 1948, in Malden, Missouri and departed this life on February 3, 2024, at her home in Bernie at the age of 75.
Mrs. Dorris was the former deputy clerk for the Stoddard County Collector/Treasurer’s office. She loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing Domino’s and Yahtzee. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bernie, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Garry Dean Dorris on August 26, 1972, in Malden, Missouri. Mr. Dorris preceded her in death on July 22, 2020.
She is survived by one son, Jeffery Dean Dorris of Dexter, Missouri; two daughters, Kimberly Diane (Paul) Cook of Malden, Missouri, and Melanie Kay (Jon) Riley of St. Charles, Missouri; four grandchildren, Shawn Cook, Shauna Cook, Kaitlyn Riley and Kyle Riley; two great-grandchildren, Eleanor Cook and Ezra Cook.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Eaker, Marvin Eaker and Rudie Eaker; one sister, Pearlene Higginbotham.
Friends may call Tuesday February 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri. Funeral services will then be conducted Tuesday February 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with Rev. Gary Gilbert and Bennetta Harrelson officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.

Kathy Wilson, daughter of the late Joe Woody and Verna Davis Woody was born on December 7, 1951 in Huffman, Arkansas and departed this life on February 1, 2024 at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 72.
Mrs. Wilson had worked at the shoe factory in Sikeston, Missouri and also at Tyson in Dexter, Missouri. She enjoyed reading, and working in her vegetable garden.
She was united in marriage to Charles Lee Wilson. Mr. Wilson preceded her in death on October 17, 2017.
She is survived by her sister and brother in law, Tricia and husband Chuck of Lino Lakes, Minnesota.
Other than by her husband and parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Bobby Woody, Clarence Woody, Charles Woody, Will Woody and James Woody; and by two sisters, Anita Bianchetti and Shirley Leggett.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Carrier officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
