2024 DHS Winter Homecoming Candidate Featuring Rylee Corlew

Dexter High School held its 2024 Winter Homecoming coronation on Friday, January 19th at the Bearcat Event Center.  The boys basketball team hosted the New Madrid County Central Eagles.

Rylee Corlew was nominated by the Dance Team and is a senior at Dexter High School.

She is the daughter of Ryan and Jessica Lee.

Rylee is a member of Sr. Beta Club, Football Cheer Team, Kickin' Cats Dance Team, and Show Choir.

Her future plans after graduation is to attend college to obtain a degree in fine arts and pursue a career in photography and body art.

She is escorted by Sebastian Ford, more affectionately known as Sea-Bass.

He is a senior at Dexter High School and is the son of Jeff and Barbara Ford.

Sebastian is a member of the Football Team.

When asked to describe Ryle in three words, Sea-Bass said, "Woman of Integrity!"

2024 DHS Winter Homecoming Candidate Featuring Alexis Bennett

Alexis Bennett is a senior at Dexter High School and was nominated by the Basketball Cheer Squad.

She is the daughter of Chris and Rachelle Bennett.

Lexi is a member of the Basketball Cheer Team, Student Council, Pep Club, Sr. Beta Club, National Honor Society, HOSA, and Future Business Leaders of America.

Her future plans after graduation are to obtain an associates degree through Southeast Missouri State University and then attend SoutheastHEALTH College of Nursing and Health sciences.  She then wants to participate in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

She is escorted by Nathan Harris.

Nate is the son of Ken Harris and Julie (Harris) McClendon.

He is a member of the Boys Basketball Team, Cross Country Team, and Track & Field Team.

When asked to describe Lexi, Nate said, "A Good Friend!"

2024 DHS Winter Homecoming Candidate Featuring Averee Ackman

Averee Ackman was nominated by the Wrestling team and is a junior at DHS.

She is the daughter of Jonathan and Amanda Guite and Trey and Leslie Ackman.

Averee is a member of the Lady Bearcat Basketball Team, Football Cheer Team, Sr., Beta Club, Pep Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and FCCLA.  She is also involved in her church youth group.

Her future plans after graduating high school are to attend a four year university and become an Aesthetic Nurse.

She is escorted by Kayden Hart.

He is a freshman at DHS and is the son of Kim and Brenda Hart.

He is on the Football Team, Wrestling Team, and Track & Field Team.

When asked to describe Averee in three words, Kayden said, "Averee is confident, intelligent, and passionate!"

2024 DHS Winter Homecoming Candidates Announced

Dexter High School announced the candidates for the 2023-2024 Winter Homecoming which will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 between the junior varsity and varsity home basketball games.


Averee Ackman was nominated by the Wrestling team and will be escorted by Kayden Hart.


Lexi Bennett was nominated by the Cheer Team and will be escorted by Nathan Harris.


Avery Riley was nominated by the boys basketball team and will be escorted by Gibson Booker


Emma Dorton was nominated by the Cheer Team and will be escorted by Ethan Zabelin.


Abbie Lloyd was nominated by the girls basketball team and will escorted by Hunter Massey.


Marie Fees was nominated by the girls basketball team and will be escorted by Joseph Pasley.


Allison Turbo was nominated by the boys basketball team and will be escorted by Devin Turbo, her brother.


Amelia Jenkins was nominated by the dance team and will be escorted by Will Guethle.


Lilly Crocket was nominated by the Wrestling team and will be escorted by Langston Werneck.

T.S. Hill Middle School Raises Over $35,000 for Wreaths Across America

Students at T.S. Hill Middle School 6th grade sponsored 3,137 wreaths for the Wreaths Across America at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Together the students raised $35,552 and was the largest thus far for the school.

Mr. Terry Bryeans' seventh hour history class sold the most wreaths.
