Arlin R. Johnson, son of the late Ivan Johnson and Fay Martin Johnson, was born on July 10, 1947, in Sturdivant, Missouri, and departed this life on November 11, 2023, at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 76 years.
Mr. Johnson was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He was a former employee of Arvin Meritor in Dexter. He was a member of the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Dexter, where he served on the Board of Directors. He enjoyed mentoring and teaching children, and he loved to fish and joke around.
On October 7, 1978, in Bloomfield, Missouri, he was first united in marriage to Glenda Wren. Mrs. Glenda Johnson preceded him in death on March 14, 2006. He was then united in marriage to Jeanette Hart, on December 28, 2007, in Sturdivant, Missouri. Mrs. Jeanette Johnson survives of their home in Dexter.
Along with his wife, he is survived by Dale Holman of Dexter, Missouri, who was like a son; by three grandchildren, Karen Holman, Michael Holman, and Brandi Griffin; and by his great-granddaughter, Maddy Holman.
Other than by his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Nolan, and Geraldine Johnson in infancy.
Visitation will be held at the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 13487 Plaza Heights Drive, Dexter, Missouri on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted at the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
