Beginning on Wednesday, Sept 20, 2023, Bus 8 will no longer have an E8 and L8.  Both routes will be just Bus 8 and picked up immediately after school.


Freshmen Orientation meeting will be held during advisory on Wednesday in the auditorium.  Freshmen advisory teachers should take attendance and then bring your students to the auditorium.


There will be a STUCO meeting during Advisory on Thursday in the auditorium.


FBLA is still accepting members to sign up and pay their $15 dues by September 29th.

The Fundraiser ends on Tuesday, September 19th.  Please turn in donut orders and money, or the $50 profit to Mrs. Guy no later than 4:00 pm on the 19th.  Those who signed up to order club shirts, need to pay for them before 3:30 on Wednesday, Sept 20th.  On Tuesday, September 26th we will have a club meeting during advisory in the cafeteria.  We will discuss the Silver Dollar City trip scheduled for Oct 16, award top-seller prizes and start signing up for contests for the district leadership conference.


Join FCCLA!  The dues are $30 and need to be paid to Mrs. Smith by Sept. 28.  This includes the membership dues and t-shirt.  FCCLA Members planning to go on the Oct 16 Silver Dollar City trip can start paying the $55 ticket fee to Mrs. Smith.


Kona Ice will be set up at the tennis courts right after school on Tuesday, September 19th, and Thursday, September 21st to help the tennis teams raise money for our Courts for Cancer event. Come buy a cup of shaved ice for a good cause and watch some tennis. 


Students are not allowed to have sodas or any open container in the upper academic area or in their locker.  Only water bottles with a secure lid are allowed.


The Homecoming Dance is for Dexter High School students only.  

Prom is the only school dance where approved guests are allowed.


Coach Allen will begin boys basketball skills training on September 19th. Details on all the skill training dates and times are found 


Coach Boyer will be having wrestling “open mats” beginning September 26th in the high school gym.  Details on open gyms for all sports can be found on the sports contact days.


Join DECA! If you are taking or have taken a marketing class and are interested in joining DECA please fill out the form attached. Membership dues are $20 and include a T-Shirt. We will have our first meeting on September 20th in Mrs. Culp's room or Email Mrs. Culp if you have any questions.

Bloomfield Board of Education September Meeting Minutes

The Bloomfield School Board held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 and the Board approved the following items:

*  Approved the District Audit Report.  Mr. Jeff Stroder from our audit service was here to present the audit report to the Board.

*  Approved the bid from Dittronics for the Security Grant Camera Bids. 

*  Approved moving the November board meeting date to November 16th, beginning at Noon.  

*  Approved bus routes for the 2023-24 school year.  

*  Approved the 2023-24 Bus Handbook. 

* Approved the 2023-24 Professional Development Handbook.  

The Board heard principal reports from each building. 

In the Superintendent's report, we discussed the Ag Shop Expansion project.  The Board was reminded about their annual refresher course they are required to complete.  As well as an update to our CSIP plan, which included the upcoming School Carnival we annually host at Parent Teacher Conferences, as well as discussing our student groups who help out with student drop off on Friday's, and how that ties into our CSIP plan for putting students in community service based activities.  

In Executive Session the Board:

*  approved hiring Jayden Fox as part time custodian

*  accepted Che Boemler's resignation from MS volleyball head coach, and approved Brasley Conner to take that position.

The 2023 Miss DHS Queen Coronation was held at Charles Bland Stadium on Thursday, September 7th.

Crowning Miss DHS is the 2023 Mr. DHS, Tyson Carmode.

Tyson is the son of Michele and Ken Carmode.

He was crowned Mr. DHS is the spring of 2023.

2023 Miss DHS Candidate Featuring Addie Medley

The 2023 Miss DHS Queen Coronation was held at Charles Bland Stadium on Thursday, September 7th.

Addie Medley is the final candidate.

She is the daughter of Kelly and Mike Medley.

She is active in varsity football cheer, dance team, Student Council, Sr. Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the school musical.

After graduation she plans to attend Paul Mitchell cosmetology school in Springfield, Missouri and then return back home to Dexter and open her own salon.

Her escort is Chase Farmer.

He is the son of Jeff and Gina Farmer.

The three words Chase used to describe Addie are "ravishing, lively, and pesky!"
