In Memory of Geraldine Long

Geraldine Long, daughter of the late Robert Wilson and Bessie Link Wilson, was born on September 2, 1925, in rural Bloomfield, Missouri, and departed this life on May 20, 2023, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 97 years.

Mrs. Long was a homemaker and worked on the family farm with her husband. She had attended First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri and First Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri, and was a resident of Dexter.

On August 20, 1944, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Charles Hudson Long. Mr. Long preceded her in death on July 10, 2011.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Long and wife Sue and Randy Long, all of Dexter, Missouri; by three daughters, Helen Lang of Dexter, Missouri, Pamela Long of Sedgewickville, Missouri, and Rebecca Long of Punta Gorda, Florida; and by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earnest Wilson and Floyd Wilson; and by her sister, Marie Evans.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ronnie Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.
