Puxico High School Baseball Team honored their seniors for Senior Night 2023 prior to the start of the Twin Rivers Royals game.
Cole Barnfield is the son of Chris and Traci Barnfield.
He has participated in baseball all four years of high school and wears the #16 playing shortstop, pitcher, and centerfielder.
He thanked God, family, and coaches for giving him the opportunity to play baseball as well as supporting him and his life as a whole.
His future plans are to attend Southeast Missouri State University - Cape Girardeau and major in Computer Science.

Duncan Crabb is the son of Jason and Cindy Crabb.
He wanted to thank his parents for dealing with him all these years. Thank you to his grandparents as well for their continued support.
He is an outfielder on the baseball team wearing #7 and has participated two years on the baseball team.
His future plans are to play basketball at Crowley’s Ridge College and earn a degree in Business Management.

Isaac Hann is the son of Brent and Heather Hann. He is a senior at Puxico High School, Class of 2023.
He wanted to thank his parents for not kicking him out yet and to his grandparents for their support.
This was his first year on the baseball team and he is wearing the #9 jersey.
His future plans are to attend Three Rivers College and earn a degree in nursing.
The Dexter High School Bearcats tennis team hosted Potosi High School in the District Championship match today, May 10th with a ticket to the Sectional round on the line.
The Bearcats came away with a 5-0 win and took home their first District Championship since 2019.
In the doubles portion of the head-to-head, the Bearcats swept all 3 matches.
#1 Doubles Match, Boles/Blocker come back from an early 0-3 deficit to pull out the 8-6 victory over Isiah Marty and Draven Griffin.
#2 Doubles Match, Worley and Chamberlain defeat Wyatt Mercer and Haydin Eckhoff 8-3.
#3 Doubles Match, Jones and Williams dominate the play and came away with an 8-1 win over Wyatt Richards and Logan Compton
"In the singles matches, we only saw the completion of 2 matches before the 5 total wins necessary to win was reached," commented head tennis coach Eric Boles.
#6 Rhyder Williams was the first singles win for the Bearcats as he defeated Logan Compton 6-0, 6-1.
#5 Logan Jones clinched the 5th match and the win for the Bearcats with his 6-3, 6-2 win over Wyatt Richards.
The following matches, in progress, were not finished because the win was clinched after the first 5 completed matches:
#1 Peyton Boles was leading #1 Marty 6-4, about to start the second set
#2 Lawson Blocker was only 1 game into his singles match when the contest was called
#3 Cooper Worley was also leading in his match but failed to complete the first set.
#4 Drew Chamberlain was leading in his match, but failed to complete the first set.
The Bearcats will travel to St. Louis for the Sectional Round of MSHSAA’s Boys Tennis Tournament where they will take on District 4 winner University City High School.
The date and time for the sectional match has yet to be determined.
Puxico High School honored Lanie Wilkerson, senior softball athlete on Monday, May 1, 2023.
She is the daughter of Brian and Wren Wilkerson and has been a catcher all four years of her high school career.
Her words of thanks go to her parents mostly for always being at every game and for always supporting her. And thanks to Abi for being the best catch partner ever!
Words for her team are to be happy and get along, and if you get hit, don’t touch it, it will hurt worse!!
Her future plans are to attend Southeast Missouri State University - Kennett in the fall and obtain her Bachelors in Agribusiness: Plant and Soil Sciences and become a crop scout.
