Glynis Dionne Reep Evans, 85, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Cypress Point Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on October 23, 1937, in Rye, Arkansas, and spent the majority of her life here in Dexter, Missouri. She worked at the Stoddard County ARC, where all staff and clients were like a family to her. Glynis enjoyed going to the beach and loved to sing. She was a member of the Dexter First United Methodist Church choir.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Glynn W. and Arralee Reep.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael and Scott Evans of Dexter, MO, one granddaughter Cassi (Ryan) Dudley of Jacksonville, IL, and one great granddaughter, Rylee Dudley.

Bobby Gene Sides was born near Hayti, Missouri on June 10, 1927, the elder son of Cyrus E. Sides and Lina E. (Warren) Sides. The family moved to Risco, Missouri when Bob was twelve, and to what became the family farm east of Bernie in December, 1941. Bob graduated from Bernie High School in 1944 and began farming shortly after, first with his father and later with his younger brother Wayne.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Faye Quinn, on August 8, 1946 in Flint, Michigan. The couple moved into the house in rural Bernie that remained Bob’s home the rest of his life. Together they farmed, traveled, and raised their daughter, Barbara. Faye died on April 11, 1988.
He married Rev. Susan Marner on February 11, 1989, when he took on the sometimes challenging role of clergy spouse. After retiring from farming in 1992, Bob and Susan enjoyed many trips in their 5th -wheel trailer, including several winter visits to Arizona and summer trips to the Missouri State Fair. In later years Bob took up golf and enjoyed golfing trips with friends. He delivered Meals on Wheels in Bernie for over 25 years. He was a former member of the Drainage Ditch #37 Board and the Senate Bill 40 Board, which administers and establishes facilities and services for persons with developmental disabilities. Bob was an active and faithful member of the Bernie United Methodist Church for 81 years.
Bob died in his home on May 13, 2023, at the age of 95. He was predeceased by his parents; by his wife Faye; by two infant half-sisters; by his son-in-law Thomas Dawson; and by his brother, partner, and friend, Wayne Sides. Bob’s survivors include his wife, Susan Marner-Sides; one daughter, Barbara Dawson; and one grandson, Robbie Dawson, all of Bernie, Missouri. He is also survived by nephews Gary (Terrie) and Kevin (Tammy) Sides, of Festus, Missouri; and Raye Riley of Anthony, Texas; by a host of great nieces and nephews; and by many, many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday Morning, May 20, 2023 in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie, Missouri starting at 11:00 AM. With Rev. Jayne Markin and Rev. Dr. Amy Gearhart officiating. Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery. Mathis Funeral Home of Bernie is assisting with arrangements.

Walter Easley, 72 of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away Tuesday May 9, 2023 at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was the son of the late Herman and Roselee Malone Easley, born on April 7, 1951 in Mayfield, Kentucky. He was a well-known welder in Mississippi County for his entire life.
On June 10, 1977 he became the loving husband of Helen Fern Cornwell Easley, who departed this life on April 9, 2022
Walter enjoyed playing cards and shooting a game of pool with his friends. He also loved working in his shop and enjoying his wife’s beautiful flowers and birds in their backyard.
Walter was a loving father to one daughter, Joanie Johnson and a wonderful Papa to one grandson Kyle (Brittany) Everett whom he loved dearly; two brothers, John Easley of East Prairie and Charles Easley of Tennessee; one sister, Jo Ann Easley; one special niece, Kim Frye of East Prairie, who made his day brighter.
Besides his parents and wife, Walter is preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Perry Easley and Billy Joe Easley; two sisters, Virgileen Ginnings and Frances Wilson.

Terry Joe Cecil, Sr. of Dexter, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 9, 2023, at the age of 70. Joe Cecil was born on May 16, 1952, in Sikeston, Missouri.
He is survived by his two children and their spouses, Joe and Lora Cecil, and Jenny and Jeremiah Oakley; grandkids Kristin Bailey, Taylor Cecil, Macy Cecil, and Reece Jones; great granddaughter Kassidy Bailey; his sisters Brenda Sprenke, Linda Cecil; brothers, Gary Cecil, and Frank Cecil; his special friend and caregiver Shaun Flanery and his beloved pets, Molly, Buddy, and TJ.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Mildred Cecil; brothers Larry, Mike & Dennis John Cecil; sisters, Patsy Cecil, and Gayle Rodgers.
Mr. Cecil was a medic in the U.S. Air Force, until in 1979 when he opened Cecil Auto Sales in Dexter, which he owned for over 30 years. He loved cars, traveling, and especially his grandchildren, whom he was so proud of. He was known for lending a hand to anyone who needed it and always being the life of the party. Along with his many friends and family, Joe leaves behind plenty of great stories and good times.
We ask that when you think of Joe, you think of him in a Hawaiian shirt with a big smile trying to make one last deal for the day.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Roger Douglas Medler of Dexter, Missouri, son of the late Glen William and Corita Marcella (Eagan) Medler was born on September 6, 1944, in Dexter, Missouri, and passed from this life on May 11, 2023, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 78.
He lived in the Southeast Missouri most of his life, except for a ten year stent when he lived in Cuba, Missouri, while working for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. After relocating to Dexter, He and his wife took over the family business in 1983, owning and operating Medler's Cleaners until his retirement at the end of 2022.
Roger married Sue Jackson in Kennett, Missouri, on August, 15, 1967. He was of the Protestant Faith attending The Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working, spending time with family, especially spoiling his grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his wife of the home; three sons, Roger (Sherry) Medler; Ross Derek Medler and Ryan Mitchell (Ashlee) Medler all of Dexter, Missouri; four grandchildren; Garrett, Layne, Jacob and Jaxon; one brother, Ron Medler of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one sister, Glenellen Nasrallah of Boston, Massachusetts; a close personal friend Roger Hubbard of Dexter; as well a host of family and friends.
