Winford S. Cato of Bloomfield, Missouri, son of the late Sylvester and Leona (Bennett) Cato was born on March 3, 1934, in Sturdivant, Missouri, and passed from this life on April 15, 2023, in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 89.
He lived in the Southeast Missouri area all of his life. Winford enjoyed hunting, sharing stories, telling jokes and sharing his opinion.
He truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but his greatest passion was fishing. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Winford retired in 1995 from being a mason brick layer.
Winford married Wilta Jean Wiseman on July 2, 1955 in Zalma, Missouri and remained married until his passing.
Winford is survived by his wife of the home; one son Cody Gibler of Bloomfield; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews as well as a host of family and friends.,
Winford was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers Paul, Hadley, Truman and James Cato; two sister-in-laws Bonnie and Essye Mae Cato and one infant sister.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Watkins And Sons Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield, Missouri with Funeral service to follow with Brother John McCain of Bloomfield Officiating.
Interment will follow at the Morgan Memorial Cemetery in Advance, Missouri with Watkins And Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
Orvel Wayne Witt, son of the late Curtis Witt and Mattie Bullard Witt, was born on June 9, 1944, in Charleston, Missouri, and departed this life on April 15, 2023, at his residence in Sikeston, Missouri, at the age of 78 years.
Mr. Witt was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy and the Missouri National Guard. He was a former co-owner of Flowers Plus and Flower Basket in Sikeston and a former sales rep for Electro Battery, Otasco and Wal-Mart. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sikeston and a former member of Murray Lane Baptist where he was involved with the youth group for many years. He was also a former Hunter Safety Instructor and Boy Scout Leader. Orvel loved God, his family, and his guns.
On November 14, 1964, in Charleston, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Ann Cathey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn Witt of Sikeston, Missouri; by his son, Randy W. Witt of Morley, Missouri; by two daughters, Julie A. Witt of Sikeston, Missouri, and Donna K. McClard and husband Gary “Butch” of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by his “other” daughter, Donna Jo “DJ” Mofield of Dexter, Missouri; by three grandchildren who he dearly loved, Austin Witt and fiancé Michaela Glaus, Ann Marie McClard and Garrett McClard; and by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Glen Witt, Lonnie Witt, Wilbur Witt, and Herbert Witt; by two sisters, Virginia King, and Leta Jolliff; and by his “other” son-in-law, Chris Mofield.

Meca Renee Powell, daughter of the late Henry Powell Sr. and Elaine Sawyer Scowden, was born on October 1, 1976 in Sikeston, Missouri and departed this life on April 10, 2023, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 46.
Ms. Powell was a certified nursing assistant, and a resident of Essex, Missouri. She enjoyed playing in the fire outdoors and working in her yard.
She is survived by three sons, Joshua Powell of Lilbourn, Missouri, Tyler Hinton of Sikeston, Missouri, and Robert Hinton Jr. of Essex, Missouri; by her fiancé, Lyndon Veldluis of Essex, Missouri; by three brothers, Joey Scowden of Oran, Missouri, Billy Ray Scowden of Farmington, Missouri, and Henry Powell of Sikeston, Missouri; by three sisters, Rebecca Powell of Dexter, Missouri, Bobbie Jo Scowden of Cairo, Illinois, and Donna Ha of Memphis, Tennessee; and by nine grandchildren, Karson, Elina, Brayden, Kota, Elijah, Addelyn, Graclyn, Ariella, and Levi.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David Scowden and Mark Clark.
A celebration of life service will be planned at a later date.

Charlotte Ann Cooper, daughter of the late Lawson Johnson and Ruby Fulkerson Johnson, was born on February 27, 1942, in Advance, Missouri, and departed this life on April 10, 2023, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 81 years.
Mrs. Cooper was the co-owner of US Poly in Dexter, Missouri. She was a member of the Assembly Church in Bloomfield, Missouri, and a resident of Bloomfield. She enjoyed working in her yard, mowing, planting her garden and feeding her squirrels.
On September 17, 1960, in Bloomfield, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Jerry W. Cooper. Mr. Cooper preceded her in death on May 22, 2022.
She is survived by her brother, Bob Johnson of Bloomfield, Missouri; and by two sisters, Nova Johnson and Debbie Johnson, both of Bloomfield, Missouri.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Brent Cooper; and by her brother, Mike Johnson.
Visitation was held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Dwight Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Connie Sue Jennings, daughter of the late Charlie Eugene Jennings and Jewel Sandusky Tryon, was born in Dexter, Missouri on July 26, 1950 and departed this life at her residence in Rural Dexter, Missouri on April 8, 2023 at the age of 72.
Ms. Jennings worked for Walmart during her life. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Michael James Snelson & wife Angela of Rural Dudley, Missouri; by one daughter, Melanie Gojkovich of the State of Arizona; by one brother, Randy Jennings & wife Jana of Bernie, Missouri; by one sister Darla McIver & husband Terry of Herculaneum, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Allison Espey & husband Kyle, Paige Snelson, Kimberlyn Hohman, Mikayla Sandusky, Kassidy Ballejos and Kiannah Ballejos; by five great-grandchildren, Lucas Standridge, Kal Espey, Wyatt Snelson, Landon Hohman and Tatum Long; also by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death other than by her parents, by one brother, Michael Ray Jennings.
