Patsy Lorean Stevens-Ingle was born on August 26, 1943 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to the late Lloyd Prater and Nellie Hartwell Prater. She died peacefully in her home in Bernie, Missouri on March 27, 2023 at the age of 79.
Patsy was united in marriage to the late Henry Harold Stevens on August 19, 1959. She later married Sonny Ingle on December 30, 1993, who preceded her in death on June 13, 2022.
Patsy was a member of the Bernie Church of Christ. Not only did Patsy enjoy going to church, she also had many other endeavors. She was a former alderman for the City of Bernie and the Chairwoman for the Bernie City Park Committee. Improving the park was something she cherished doing. She retired from teaching for the Malden School district after 32 years. Patsy also retired from the Stoddard County Ambulance after 32 years of service. She was an avid landscaper, gardener and designer. However, the highlight of Patsy’s life was her family. She loved spending time cooking for her children and grandchildren.
Those left behind to mourn her passing are her daughter, Cynthia Stevens of Sikeston, Missouri; her son, Bradley Stevens & wife Amber of Bernie, Missouri; by two grandsons, Quinton Stevens & wife Tanya and Joshua Stevens & wife Mckenzie; by one great-granddaughter, Ellie Stevens and one great-grandson, Dawson Stevens, all of Bernie, Missouri; By one step-daughter, Kathryn Stanley & husband Dewayne of New Madrid, Missouri; by two step-grandchildren, Valeri Duke & husband Kyle and Tyler Stanley & wife Shawna; by two step-great-granddaughters, Rylie and Lexy; by one brother, Calvin Prater of Greenville, Missouri; also by other relatives and many friends.
Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Joann Hargies and Mary King; by two brothers, Donald Prater and Harold Prater.
Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 PM in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Stan Dauck officiating. Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery. Mathis Funeral Home of Bernie is assisting with all arrangements.
