BRIDGE CLOSURE - US 60/62
Alexander County, Illinois and Mississippi County, Missouri
Cairo, IL - The Illinois Department of Transportation would like to alert motorists traveling in the Cairo area that the US 60/62 bridge over the Mississippi River will be closed to all traffic.
Critical issues were discovered during the Routine Inspection that started March 13, 2023. The bridge will remain closed until a plan can be developed and implemented.
Message board will be in place to direct traffic.
Route ZZ in Stoddard County will be reduced as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform shoulder repairs.
This section of roadway is located from Route H to County Road 642.
Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, Feb. 27 through Friday, March 31 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

Route 25 in Stoddard County will be reduced as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace roadway lighting.
This section of roadway is located from Lighthouse Road to the commuter parking lot in Dexter, Missouri.
Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday, Feb. 14 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Route FF in Stoddard County will be closed as railroad crews perform railroad maintenance on the tracks.
This section of the roadway is located from West Main Street to South Main Street in Essex, Missouri.
Weather permitting, work will take place Wednesday, Feb. 1 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
