Franklin Dee Hatchel, son of the late James Hatchel and Dora Cox Hatchel, was born on April 23, 1934, in Parma, Missouri, and departed this life on March 19, 2023, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 88 years.
Mr. Hatchel was a Veteran of the United States Army and a former truck driver.
He is survived by four sons, Mark Hatchel of Bloomfield, Missouri, Jimmy Hatchel of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Stevie Chilton of Dexter, Missouri, and Billy Chilton of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by two daughters, Jeannie Marshal of Jackson, Missouri, and Judy Duenne of Charleston, Missouri; by his sister, Joyce Blaylock of Essex, Missouri; and by seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Perry Hatchel, Terry Hatchel, Bud Hatchel, and Louis Hatchel; and by seven sisters, Emogene Hodge, Eula Mae Carson, Violetta Minton, Dorothy Richards, Mable Hudgens, Velta Lacy, and Geraldine Hatchel.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.

Shirley Jean Gulley, daughter of the late Wilbur Williams and Emogene Musgraves Watkins, was born on February 15, 1952, in Tuscola, Illinois, and departed this life on March 18, 2023, at Winchester Nursing Center in Bernie, Missouri, at the age of 71 years.
Mrs. Gulley was a former employee of VNA and a resident of Dexter, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Alan Gulley on July 4, 1986. Mr. Gulley survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Scottie Linder of Cocoa Beach, Florida; by her brother, Sam Williams of Fairfield, Illinois, and Nancy Blessing of Fairfield, Illinois; and by six grandchildren.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Clayton Bolte.

Chad Russell Johnson was born July 25, 1971 to Gerald and Bonita Hulehan Johnson in Toms River, New Jersey. He passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2023 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Chad was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Johnson, brother, Brad Johnson and sister, Marti Johnson. He is also survived by loving aunts and uncles: Sandy Hulehan, Rita and Mark Chapman, Connie Garcia, Wayne Hulehan and Tom Love.
And many beloved cousins.
Chad was known for his sense of humor, love for his family and love of the St. Louis Cardinals.
We will miss him dearly.
A family and friends memorial was held to celebrate Chad’s life.

Michael Linzell Shepard, son of the late Linzell Shepard and Elaine Osborn Shepard, was born on January 1, 1948, in Dunklin County, Missouri, and departed this life on March 18, 2023, at Southeast Health of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 75 years.
Mr. Shepard retired from Powell Supply in Dexter in 2021, after over 20 years of service and he served as a Dexter City Alderman for Ward 3. He enjoyed playing on the computer, watching movies and sports, especially St Louis Cardinals baseball, LA Rams football, and St Louis Blues hockey.
On July 7, 2006, in Corning, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Sue Sentell. Mrs. Shepard survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Linzell (Kelly) Shepard of Portland, Maine, Jamie (Danielle) Shepard of Dexter, Missouri, Travis (Ashley) Cozort of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Robert (Stacy) Cozort of Williamsville, Missouri; by his brother, Phillip Shepard of Hermann, Missouri; and by seven grandchildren, Andrew, Owen, Aidan, Amaya, Christopher, Laci, and Kaylyn.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Shepard, Earl Shepard, and Tony Shepard; and by his sister, Maria Shepard.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Qulin Cemetery in Qulin, Missouri.

Phyllis Ann Farmer, daughter of the late Hershel Truman “Jack” Farmer and Dolly Wilson Farmer, was born on October 30, 1948, in Gibson, Missouri, and departed this life on March 16, 2023, at her residence in Bloomfield, Missouri, at the age of 74 years.
Ms. Farmer was a former administrator for Tri County - Pyramid Home Health. She attended Dexter Church of Christ. Phyllis enjoyed gardening, fishing, and taking care of her family and friends, and she always wanted to help everyone.
She is survived by her brother, Gerald Farmer of St. Charles, Missouri; by her sister, Vickey Hartline of Dexter, Missouri; and by many special nieces and nephews.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Ray Farmer, Eddie Farmer, and Hershel Odell Farmer; and by her sister, Anita Cullum.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, March 20, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
