
David Edward Hayden of Puxico, Missouri, son of the late William and Effie Mae (Flood) Hayden born on February 2, 1939, in Puxico, Missouri, and passed from this life on January 24, 2023, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 83 years.
David moved back to the Puxico area upon his twenty year retirement from the U.S. Army. He was a VFW Member who also enjoyed hunting, farming, spending time with family, especially spoiling his grandchildren.
David was married to Yong Cha Won in South, Korea, in 1965.
He is survived by his wife of the home; three daughters, Janice (Dan) Richard of Fenton, Missouri, Cheryl (Kevin) Elledge of Wappapello, Missouri, and Amy Hayden of Wilmington, Ohio; four grandchildren, Matthew (Christina) Richard of Denver, Colorado, Stacy (Ed) Wanner of Ballwin, Missouri, Ryan (Cassie) Elledge of Wappapello, Missouri, and Kyle Elledge of Wappapello, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Lucas Elledge of Wappapello, Missouri and Edward Wanner of Ballwin, Missouri; two sisters, Doris Crawford and Sharon Shepherd of Puxico. A host of family and friends also survive.
David was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Carl Hayden.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M - 12:00 P.M on Saturday, February 4, 2023, with funeral service following at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Pastor Ray Placher officiating.
Internment will follow at the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri, with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Rita Gail Stallion of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, daughter of the late Delias and Winnie (McCollum) Cartwright was born on July 31, 1949, in Toppertown, Missouri, and passed from this life on January 24, 2023, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 73 years.
She was of the Methodist Faith. Rita was a former 4H member and a 4H volunteer, a member of the Arthritis Foundation and belonged to a local Tuesday Lunch Bunch. She loved to paint, photography, arts and crafts. She enjoyed being a home maker cooking, baking and really enjoyed caring for stray animals.
Rita is survived by one daughter, Nikki (Jay) Brewer of St. Louis, Missouri; one grand daughter; a life long friend Marsha Cantanni; many nephews and nieces as well as a host of family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by three brothers; Clyde, Jimmy and Loren "Bo" Cartwright; two sisters, Glenda "Toots" Link and Elizabeth Cartwright.
Visitation service will be Friday January 27, 2023 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M with Memorial Service to follow at the Watkins And Sons Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield, Missouri with Pastor Steve Tippen officiating.
Interment will follow at the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins And Sons Funeral of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Larry Gene Smith, son of the late William Brice Smith and Bertha Mae Love Smith Treadwell, was born May 1, 1938 in Windyville, Missouri and departed this life on January 25, 2023 at the age of 84.
Pastor Larry Smith served over 60 years in the ministry. He began his first pastorale in 1962 at Emerson Street Church of God in Kennett, Missouri where he served for 9 ½ years. He also served in Shreveport, LA and at Inspiration Church of God in Eastland, Texas before coming back to serve in his hometown of East Prairie for 12 years. After retirement, he continued to serve at Tanner Street Church of God as interim pastor for several years, before he returned to East Prairie, to once again serve as interim pastor, and then later as Pastor Emeritus.
He served on many boards and committees during his time in the ministry and was passionate supporter of mission work. He travelled on many trips to serve over the years. Including the Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong, Taipei, Taiwan, Guatemala and Honduras.
He was a diligent worker and would do whatever job needed to be done. Many days in his “retirement” he could be found climbing a ladder and repairing something at the church. Pastor Larry was instrumental in envisioning and building the Family Life Center at the First Church of God in East Prairie, which has become a community gathering place. He continued to serve the Lord until his death. His absence from this life will be mourned but we rejoice in his homecoming.
On July 12, 1959, in the Pultight Church of God in East Prairie, he married Ruby Wilson and they had 63 wonderful years together before Larry was called home.
Other than his wife he is survived by three special nieces, Rhonda (Harry) Brack, Elizabeth (Blake) Story and Olivia (Jeremy) Lueder; two special nephews, Jonathan (Haley) Brack and Jeremy (Tina) Lewis; special great nieces and nephews, Wade Brack and baby Brack, Kendriya and Jersee Story; Special friends, Georgetta and Dave Stephenson; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Micki Smith; nephew, Wayne Smith; and his step-father, James Delmar Treadwell.
Visitation will be held Saturday January 28, 2023, at the First Church of God in East Prairie from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dawn Walters officiating. Burial will follow at the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery in East Prairie.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Lewis, Jonathan Brack, Harry Brack, Jeremy Lueder, Blake Story and Danny Ivie.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Wilson, Terry Wilson, Donnie Wilson, Helen Lewis, Bill Lewis, Freddy Daniels, Madge Daniels, Lloyd Smith, Kevin Walters, Shirley Ivie.

Vicki Lynn Haas, daughter of the late Carl Haas and Donna Kennedy Haas, was born in Mansfield, Ohio on January 28, 1965 and departed this life at Bernie, Missouri on January 21, 2023 at the age of 57.
Ms. Haas was a Machinist before her retirement. She was a Master Babysitter, beloved Aunt and friend.
Survivors include one sister, Sheri Palmer & husband John of Bernie; by two brothers, Carl Haas of Phoenix, Arizona and Robert Haas of Bernie, Missouri; by four nieces, Nicole Palmer, Heather Wooldridge & husband Chad, Juanna Bradshaw and Ashley Palmer; by one nephew, Andrew Rhinehart; by seven great nephews and nieces, Madison, Mason, Willow, Presley, Ayden, Grayson and Scarlett; also by other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 26, 2023 starting at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Dale Hartle officiating.

Thomas Franklin Daniels, son of the late Johnnie Franklin Daniels and Bernice Henson Daniels, was born in Parma, Missouri on February 26, 1943 and departed this life at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on January 19, 2023 at the age of 79.
Mr. Daniels had retired from UPS in 2007. He was also Owner/Operator of Daniels Service Station in Parma, Missouri for 34 years. He had served his community by being the Fire Department Captain for 25 years, City Alderman, and Head of the Parma Civil Defense for several years. He was also a member and Deacon of Parma First Baptist Church.
He was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Boyle in Bernie, Missouri on November 25, 1961. Mrs. Daniels survives in their home in Parma.
Other survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Hampton & husband Allen of Parma, Missouri and Tracie Rinehart & husband Gary of New Madrid, Missouri; by two grandchildren, Thomas Eakens & Ben Eakens; by seven great-grandchildren, Bently Rooker, Jasper Eakens, Abby Eakens, Brenleigh Eakens, Alexia Eakens, Jordan Eakens and Katie Eakens; also by other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by one granddaughter, Megan Rinehart; by two brothers, Irvin Daniels and J.E. Daniels.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri starting at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Marty Carlisle officiating. Interment will follow. Mathis Funeral Home of Bernie is assisting with arrangements.
