In Memory of Silas Joe 'Chuck' Hull

Silas Joe 'Chuck' Hull of Puxico, Missouri, son of the late Alvin Lafayette and Gertrude Leona (Hobbs) Hull  was born on May 11, 1945, in Hayden, Colorado, and went to be with  the Lord on December 11, 2022, at the age of 77. 

Silas  lived most of his life near Puxico, Missouri.  Silas attended the Church Of Christ.  He was known to many as a very strong and devout Christian.  Silas loved going and serving others in the church. He also enjoyed gardening, working and spending time with family. 

Silas is survived  by three daughters, Tina (Larry) Sandage of Dexter, Missouri, Cindy (Jeff) Bright of East Prairie, Missouri, and Laura (Clarence) Reynolds of Bloomfield, Missouri; one brother, Larry (Priscilla) Hull of Old Appleton, Missouri; four grand children, Elisha, Hannah, Adam and  Isaac; one great grandchild, Kinslee Sandage.  Close personal friends, Charles and Doris Hedsmith as well as a host of family and friends.

Silas was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leon Hull; two sisters, Betty Brown and Clara Shrum.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 16 at 10:00 A.M at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico, Missouri, with his Service to follow at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Tony Cookson Of Advance, Missouri, officiating.

Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery outside of Puxico, Missouri, with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Rose Jeannette Burton

Rose Jeannette Burton of  of Bloomfield, Missouri daughter of the late Calvin Van and Levena (Keys) Burton  was born on August 16, 1950 in Liltchfield, Arkansas, and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 10, 2022 in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 72.

Rose  lived most of her life near Bloomfield, Missouri and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bloomfield. She loved watching baseball, and truly savored the smaller things in life.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents;  one sister Joyce Strauser.  

Rose  is survived by one brother Larry Burton of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one nephew Terry Young of Jackson, Missouri; two neices Sarah Gregory of Alton, Illinois; Sabrina Soloman of Puxico, Missouri. As well as a host of family and friends. 

A graveside memorial service will be conducted on Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Dexter, Cemetery in Dexter Missouri with Pastor Charlie Robertson of Bloomfield officiating with Watkins And Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Lee Roy Kent

Lee Roy Kent, son of Homer and Mary Kent, was born on December 30, 1949, in Gideon MO and departed this life on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at his home in Dexter, MO.


Lee was of the Pentecostal faith and attended First Pentecostal Church in Dexter, MO. He was a high school graduate and owner of Gospel Hits Music Company. His greatest accomplishment was writing “Sounds of the City” performed by the Inspirations.


Lee was a man who valued his family and close friends. He enjoyed his Hamm Radio Organization and enjoyed being a volunteer for the Stoddard County EMS.

Lee is survived by his mother, Mary Kent of Dexter; one sister, Pat Rodgers of Dexter; three nieces: Heather Hairston & husband Logan of Dexter, Candice Burleson & husband James of Malden, and Kristina Stone of Sikeston; one nephew, Jack Schmerber of Dexter; several great nieces: Sierra Green, Hallie Skelton, Kaylar Tidwell, several great nephews: Devon Green, DJ Jones, Wyatt Smelt, Prestyn Tidwell, Jayce Tidwell, Deklyn Hairston, James Hairston, Bentley Slayton, and Christian Arment, a great, great niece: Maleigha Green, and two great great nephews: Kamber and Kaison Green; several cousins and his best friend, Shannon McGowan, whom he loved dearly.


Lee was proceeded in death by his father, Homer Kent and his brother-in-law, Thomas Rodgers.


Services for Lee Roy were held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden MO. Family gathered at 10am, with friends arriving at 11am. Funeral followed at 1pm with Brother Jeff Wells and Brother Donnie Fowler officiating. Graveside service followed at the Clarkton Missouri cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please contact Jackson Florist in Dexter, MO.

In Memory of Farrell Lee Bostic

Farrell Lee Bostic of Bloomfield Missouri, the son of the late Floyd Eugene Bostic and Mary Mae (Cox) Bostic  was born on May 15, 1956, in Bloomfield, Missouri.  He passed from this life on December 8, 2022, at his home in Bloomfield, Missouri, at the age of 66.

Farrell had lived in Bloomfield, Missouri all of his life. He was of the Christian Faith and attended New Beginning Tabernacle. He was a member of the Eagles. He enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers and cars, and collecting things. He also enjoyed playing guitar. but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

In 1990 he married the love of his life, Sandra (Phillips) Bostic, in Bloomfield, Missouri.   

Farrell is survived by his wife of the home; four sons, Chris Bostic of Lexington, Tennessee, Billy Phillips of Bloomfield, Missouri, Michael Phillips of Dexter, Missouri, Shawn (Jemia) Bostic of Lexington, Tennessee; two daughters, Amy Simmons of Brazil, Indiana, and Brandy Phillips of Dexter, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren with two more on the way; two brothers, Dale (Joyce) Bostic of Bloomfield, Missouri, Darrell (Pat) Bostic of Idaho; one sister, Gayla Brookman of Virginia. Four close personal friends, Johnny McCulley, Clayton McNeil, Steve Shipley and Tony Cullum.   A host of family and friends also survive.

Farrell was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Glenda Phillips.

Visitation services will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. with the service to follow at 12:00P.M the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield, Missouri, with Pastor Gary Teel officiating.

Interment will follow at the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, with  Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of  arrangements.

In Memory of Debra Sherrion Alaniz

Debra Sherrion Alaniz, 70 of Puxico, Missouri, passed from this life on Thursday, December 8, 2022, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  

The daughter of the late James David Ray and Wilma Bernice Hamlin was born on December 20, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri. 

Debra has spent most of her life in Puxico, Missouri.  She was of the Christian Faith.  She loved yard sailing and reading. 

She is survived by her parents, and life long partner, Barry Kime;  one son, Shannon (Michelle) Alaniz of Imperial, Missouri; one daughter,  Elisa Hobbs of Bloomfield, Missouri; two sisters, Vickie Parker of Wichita, Kansas and Dava Ray of Puxico, Missouri; seven  grandchildren and seven great grandchildren as well as a host of family and friends.   

Debra was preceded in death by her grandson, Kyle Alaniz; her granddaughters, Willow Moore and Olive Moore.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico, Missouri, with Brother Matt Mitchell of Puxico officiating with  Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
