DHS Boys Varsity Basketball Team Will Compete in Doniphan Jamboree

Doniphan, MO - The Dexter High School boys basketball team will travel to Doniphan and participate in the Doniphan High School Boys Basketball Jamboree on Thursday, November 17, 2022.  For these seniors it's their last jamboree of their high school career!  Please come out and support our seven seniors!!

Team will have 36 minutes on the clock maximum with two two 6 minute quarter that will equal their session.  Team fouls will be kept on the scoreboard and individual player fouls will not be kept.  There will be two 30 second timeouts per session and a six minute warm up before each session.

Schedule:

5:30 p.m. Doniphan vs Sikeston

6:00 p.m. Alton vs Dexter

6:30 p.m. Alton vs Sikeston

7:00 p.m. Doniphan vs Dexter

7:30 p.m. Dexter vs Sikeston

8:00 p.m. Doniphan vs Alton

DHS to Host Powder Puff Football Monday Evening

Dexter, MO - The Dexter High School will host their first Powder Puff Football Game (in a long time) at Charles Bland Stadium on Monday, November 14th beginning at 6:00 p.m.

There will be four football teams by grade level and they have been practicing.  The games will be done in Jamboree format.  Additionally there will be a cheer squad.

Cost for admission is $3.00 and all proceeds will be shared with the Dexter Student Council and the Stoddard County Gospel Mission.

Parents, students, and the community is encouraged to attend a night of fun and entertainment.

They do not have regular concessions, but will serve hot chocolate.

Class 3, District 1 Football District Seeds Released

MSHSAA (Missouri State High School Athletic Association) has released the 2022 Class 3, District 1 Football District seeds and bracket.

Valle Catholic with a record of 9-0 has earned the #1 seed with 56.92 points and received a bye in round one.

Park Hill Central (8-1) with 50.72 points earned the #2 spot and will host #7 Fredericktown with 23.08 points.  Park Hills only loss this year was to Valle Catholic.

Ste. Genevieve (7-2) with 42.19 points placed 3rd and will host the Dexter Bearcats (4-5) and 28.55 points.

Kennett (6-3) and ranked #4 will host #5 Potosi (3-6).  Kennett earned 38.63 points and Potosi earned 30.92 points.

All games are set for Friday, October 28th with a kick-off time of 7:00 p.m.

2022 SCAA Cross Country Meet Moved to Dexter

On Saturday, October 8th, 2022 Dexter R-XI School District will host the annual Stoddard County Schools Cross Country Meet for junior high and high school runners

The Stoddard County Athletic Association (SCAA) Cross Country meet has been moved from Bloomfield to Dexter due to a scheduling conflict with an event to be held at the Stars & Stripes Museum.  The meet will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the middle school boys running first.

The times are as follows:

8:30 A.M. Coaches’ Meeting

9:00 A.M. MS Boys

9:05 A.M. MS Girls

9:45 A.M. Varsity/JV Boys

9:50 A.M. Varsity/JV Girls

There will be 10 rank medals given out per middle school and high school race.  The individual rank medals will be placed in packets and given to coaches at the conclusion of the meet.  The first place team from each race will receive a plaque.

DHS Boys Cross Country Team Earns 2nd Place Finish at Gans Creek Classic

Columbia, MO - The Dexter Bearcats Cross Country Team took second place in the white division at the Gans Creek Classic on Saturday with a team average time of 17:36.

Three boys and one girl medaled at the event.  Chris Stone led the way finished 4th with a time of 17:05.  Cameron bell finished ninth with a time of 17:24 and Ben Dowdy finished 12th with a time of 17:28.

On the girls side, Miss Abbie Lloyd finished 15th with a time of 21:40.

On Wednesday prior to this meet Dexter competed at the Van Buren Scenic River run in Carter County.  Alliye Lee placed 19th with a time of 27:34.  Jasmine Smith finished with time of 29:46 earning her a 21st place finish and Lilly Crockett finished 24th with a time of 30:08.

On the boys side Stryker Munzy finished 30th with a time of 23:54 and Gavin McMullin finished 31st with a time of 24:00.
