2022 DHS Football Homecoming Candidates Announced

Dexter, MO - The Dexter High School football homecoming will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Charles Bland Stadium when they host the East Prairie Eagles.  The Community Homecoming Tailgate will be held from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. with the coronation at 6:30 p.m. on the field.

The homecoming candidates have been announced.  

The tennis team nominated Grace Marvel and Alise Howell.

The volleyball team nominated Rachel Cobb and Caitlin Giles.

Football Cheer nominated Emma Sparkman and Calysta Whitaker.

The football team nominated Bella Cook and Kylah Hill.

The cross country team nominated Alliye Lee and Abbie Lloyd.

Winkle Earns Positive Office Note at Puxico Elementary

Puxico, MO - Kevin Winkle earned a Positive Office Referral Note at Puxico Elementary this week.  His teacher is Mrs. Manis.

"I am proud of this student because he has been a good citizen in my classroom," commented Mrs. Manis. "He volunteers to help and helps without being told to do so in the classroom.  He is constantly working to better our class.  Great job Kevin!"

He displayed hard work, teamwork, and responsibility.

Mrs. Thompson said, "I am so proud of your efforts."

Jackson Earns Positive Office Note at Puxico Elementary

Puxico, MO - Savannah Jackson earned a Positive Office Note at Puxico Elementary this week.  Her teacher is Mrs. Julius.

"I am proud of this student because she has kept an eye out for others needing a friend.  Savannah had gone out of her way to be kind and ask others to play," stated Mrs. Julis.

She displayed great teamwork.

Mrs. Thompson said she is very proud of her and the kindness she has shown to her classmates.

Dexter High School Students Awarded with Academic Honors from College Board National Recognition Programs

Dexter, MO - DHS students were awarded with academic honors from College Board National Recognition Programs.  Students excelled in College Board assessments and schoolwork to earn these awards, which colleges use to identify academically competitive underrepresented students

Dexter High School students have earned academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them meaningfully connect to colleges and stand out during the admissions process. Colleges and scholarship programs identify students awarded National African American, Hispanic, Indigenous and/or Rural/Small Town Recognition through College Board’s Student Search Service.

The following student(s) have been awarded recognition (award key below)

Alise Howell: NRSTA  National Rural and Small Town Award = NRSTA

Ellie Dowdy: NRSTA  National Rural and Small Town Award = NRSTA

Teachers who were instrumental in helping were Tiffany Wiggins-History, Christy Griffin-English, Amanda Long-History, Jacob Williams-History/Psychology, and Celeste Colley-Science

Students who may be eligible have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10, or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams; and attend school in a rural area or small town.
