In Memory of Barbra Sue Razer

Barbra Sue Razer, daughter of the late Chester Corbin and Catharine Mossman Corbin, was born on September 29, 1942, in Bloomfield, Missouri, and departed this life on September 10, 2022, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Missouri, at the age of 79 years.

Mrs. Razer had worked for the Malden Library in Malden, Missouri and she was a resident of Risco, Missouri.

On June 4, 1996, she was united in marriage to Leland Razer. Mr. Razer preceded her in death on November 13, 2017.

She is survived by her son, Larry Stoker and wife Leisa of Sikeston, Missouri; by three daughters, Brenda Aguilar of Dexter, Missouri, Lisa Edgar and husband Bobby of Ellsinore, Missouri, and Cindy Stoker of Bloomfield, Missouri; by her sister, Sharon Wilburn of Kilgore, Texas; by four grandchildren, Rebecca Aguilar, Michael Aguilar, Joe Aguilar and Aaron Stoker-Blasingame; and by two great-grandchildren.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Cory McCoy; by her son-in-law, Alex Aguilar; and by two brothers, Sherrill Corbin, and Dale Corbin.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at the George Cemetery. A procession to the cemetery will leave from Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

Jimmie C. Jones, son of the late Ardeth “A.G.” Jones Sr. and Esther Mae Bomar Jones, was born on August 7, 1941, in Peach Orchard, Missouri, and departed this life on September 9, 2022, at Southeast Health of Stoddard County, in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 81 years.

Mr. Jones was a former farmer and a resident of Essex, Missouri. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening. He enjoyed spending time at the M-N-P in Essex drinking coffee with his friends.

He is survived by two sons, Shannon Jones and wife Cindy of Sikeston, Missouri, and Shane Jones and wife Tracy of East Prairie, Missouri; by his daughter, Sherry Jones Myers of Essex, Missouri; by two brothers, Ardeth Jones Jr. of Leora, Missouri and Reuben Jones of Leora, Missouri; by his sister, Ina Mae Winstead of Jackson, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Whitney Hull, Gavin Jones, Kyle Montgomery, Tristan Montgomery, Amber Clark, and Ethan Jones; and by four great-grandchildren, Benson Walker Jones, Aedan Clark, Elizabeth Clark, and Hunter Clark.

Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Francis Thompson, and Carolyn Otwell.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Old Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri.

In Memory of Bradford (Brad) Edwin Dodd Sr

Bradford (Brad) Edwin Dodd Sr. of Dexter, Missouri, was the son of the late Fletcher Dodd and Doris Irene (Ham) Niederstadt. Brad was born on January 8, 1956, in Dexter, Missouri and passed away on September 7, 2022 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 66.

 He lived in the Dexter, Missouri area all of his life where he worked as a railroad van driver. Brad enjoyed fishing, playing with grandkids and loved the Cardinals. Brad was of the Baptist faith.

Brad is survived by two sons Bradford Edwin (Ruth) Dodd, Jr., of Dexter, Missouri, Brett Allen Dodd of Dowagiac, Michigan; one daughter Brandi Renee Dodd of Dexter, Missouri; one brother Bruce Dodd of Lakeland, Florida; two sisters Brenda Randall of Tusculoosa, Alabama, Laura Jones of Baltimore, Maryland;  two grandchildren. A host of family and friends also survive.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents; his step-dad Holland Niederstadt; one sister Barbara Dodd; and one grandson Blaine Allen Dodd. 

Private Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri and Watkins And Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Carolyn Standridge

Mrs. Carolyn Jean Garrison Standridge, daughter of the late Hugh T. Garrison and Myrtle Harden Garrison, was born in Sikeston, Missouri, on August 5, 1938. She met her Lord and Savior on September 7, 2022, at the age of 84 years.

She married the love of her life, Mr. Kenneth Standridge, on August 27, 1955, and together they had four beautiful children together, fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great­ grandchildren.

Mrs. Standridge was a former switchboard operator for Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri, and Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She also worked for Sikeston Senior High School in the principal's office. She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Wappapello, Missouri, for over 30 years. Both her family and faith were extremely important to her. She loved her family dearly and shared many of her favorite scriptures with them throughout the years.

To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was known as "Nanny." They all loved her dearly and enjoyed spending time with her. One of Nanny's favorite pastimes was teaching them how to cook. Nanny was known for her famous homemade chicken and noodles and passed down many recipes to her family that they will continue to cook in remembrance of her. Nanny will be missed dearly.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Kenneth Standridge Jr. of Dexter, Missouri, and two daughters, Charissa (Jimmy) Comstock of Dexter, Missouri, and Victoria (Mark) Sings of Lake City, South Carolina, daughter-in-law, Connie Eddy of Lake Placid, Florida, brother Gary "Jack" (Mary) Garrison of Benton, Kentucky, and many grandchildren and great­ grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Kerry Standridge, three brothers, Hugh Garrison Jr., Jim Garrison, and John Garrison, and two sisters, Jerry Behrens, and Eulene Morris.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, September 12, 2022, from 9:30 am until 11:00 am.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, September 12, 2022, beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

In Memory of Daniel Ivan Sitze

Daniel Ivan Sitze, son of the late Elmer Ivan Sitze and Lucille Jeanette Sitze, was born on October 4, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and departed this life on September 10, 2022, at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 73 years.

Mr. Sitze was a former principal at Zalma, Woodland and Richland schools and a former teacher at various schools in the area. He pastored St. Joe General Baptist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri, from 1986 to 2010.

On December 20, 1969, at Bethel General Baptist Church, he was united in marriage to Connie Staats. Mrs. Sitze survives of their home in Dexter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Eric Sitze and wife Delisa of Dexter, Missouri; by his daughter, Heather Rice and husband Loyd of Dexter, Missouri; by his sister, Karen Elledge and husband Larry of Jackson, Missouri; and by five grandchildren, Natalie Sitze, Dylan Sitze, Jake Rice, Joe Rice, and James Rice.

Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, JC and Abbie Rice.

Visitation will be held at St. Joe General Baptist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted at St. Joe General Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy, Missouri.
