Raymond William Ragsdale, son of the late Nebert William Ragsdale and Martha McDowell Ragsdale, was born on July 28, 1940, in Lafe, Arkansas, and departed this life on September 7, 2022, at this residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 82 years.

Mr. Ragsdale was a Veteran of the United States Navy, from 1958 to 1967, serving in Vietnam on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier. He was a former RV Park manager, a former cross country truck driver, and a former transit driver for the city of Bloomfield.

In August of 1970, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Wanda Ragsdale. Mrs. Ragsdale preceded him in death.

He is survived by two sons, Raymond William Ragsdale Jr. and William Dale Able; by two daughters, Gail Walker of Dexter, Missouri, and Linda Upton of Fulton, Mississippi; by seven grandchildren, by twelve great-grandchildren; by three great-great grandchildren; and by two special friends, Jamie Schatz of Dexter, Missouri, and Penny Walker of Bloomfield, Missouri.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. William Tyler Hendley officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
