Mules Blow Out Hornets in 6 Innings

Bernie, MO - The Bernie varsity mules took to the field on a wet Friday evening and blew away their competitor, the Holcomb Hornets.

Offensively they had zero trouble defeating the Hornets 12-2 in a 10 run rule.

Reece Justice led the Mules to victory on the mound.  The pitcher lasted four and 2/3's innings, allowing six hits, struck out three, and allowed only two runs.

Jayden Robinett threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Payton McNabb took the loss for Holcomb.  The right-hander went one and 1/3 innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out two.

Bernie tallied 13 hits on the day.  Seth Teel, Hunter Newton, Landon Ellsworth, and Jayden Robinette each managed multiple hits for Bernie.  The Mules were sure-handed in the field and did not commit a single error.  Cody Massey had the most chances in the field with five.

Blake Nash went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Bernie in hits.

Sam Jacobs, Bryce McNabb, Jacob Reeves-Crittendon, Hunter Lawrence, and Barry Privett, each collected one hit to lead the varsity Hornets. Holcomb had one error.
