Gene Cobb, son of the late Clarence Cobb and Nancy Lyons Cobb, was born on April 14, 1946, in Corning, Arkansas, and departed this life on June 22, 2022, at Winchester Nursing Center in Bernie, Missouri, at the age of 76 years.
Mr. Cobb was a former employee of Brown Shoe Company in Bernie, Missouri.
He is survived by two daughters, Nora Lang of Scott City, Missouri and Susan Miller of Advance, Missouri; by his step-son, Roy Rickman of Bernie, Missouri; by his step-daughter, Sharon Meadows of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by two brothers, Joe Cobb of Bernie, Missouri and Jerry Cobb of Malden, Missouri; by two sisters, Vernell Ross of Malden, Missouri and Bonnie Sue Fouse of Hoopeston, Illinois; and by twelve grandchildren; Krendy DeJournett, Travis DeJournett, Sarah Lang, Austin Miller, Ethan Miller, Kade Miller, Gena Meadows, Staci Snider, Kelli Underwood, Mandy Meppiel, Samantha Collins, and Joe Baxter.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Joe Baxter; by his step-daughter, Ramona Stockton; by three brothers, Vonda Cobb, Leon Cobb, and Willie Cobb; and by his sister, Wretha Minton.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at a later date in the Bernie Cemetery.

Roy B. Harris, 87, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2022, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri. Roy was born March 4, 1935, in Alabama to Arthur and Leola Harris. He was one of eight brothers and six sisters.
Roy was a Christian and sat on the board of directors at the Lighthouse Church in Dexter, Missouri. Roy was one everyone could count on, always willing to help anyone in need. Those close to him knew him as simply “Papa”. Roy was blessed through out his life.
After high school he joined the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War aboard the aircraft carriers USS Boxer & USS Essex. Next, he joined the Shreveport, Louisiana fire department and worked for Orkin Pest Control at the same time. His passion to be of service to people led him to Revlon Cosmetics where he retired as a top territory manager receiving numerous top awards. He then moved back to Southeast Missouri and started a land grading company. It was here the Italian pump company Lowara learned of Roy and hired him as Vice President of U.S. sales. Eventually, Goulds Pumps bought out Lowara and Roy stayed on with them until retiring again. Never one to sit still, Roy continued to be of service to anyone who needed help.
Roy, a beloved husband, is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley M. Harris of Dexter, Missouri; by his son, Kevin Harris of Houston, Texas; by his daughter, Tammie R. Harris of Dexter, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Tasha N. Harris of Haymarket, Virginia; Crystal F. Cunningham of Dexter, Missouri; Dustin L. Cunningham of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and Danielle A. Keaton of Washington D.C.; and by eight great-grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rick Harris; and by three brothers and five sisters.
A memorial service will be held at the Lighthouse Christian Church on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Sally Sue Leake, daughter of the late Chester Hill and Barbara Burnett Whitehead, was born on October 25, 1959, in St. Louis, Missouri, and departed this life on June 22, 2022, at her residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 62 years.
Mrs. Leake was a certified nurses assistant. She was a member of the Independence RC Motorcycle Club and the Freedom of Road Riders Motorcycle Club.
On July 11, 2011, she was united in marriage to Cletus Leake. Mr. Leake preceded her in death on July 19, 2021.
She is survived by two daughters, Tabatha Razer (Andrew Shawn) of Dexter, Missouri and April Bridges (Kathona Foster) of Risco, Missouri; by two sons Jody Hill of Malden, Missouri, and Scott Walker of Risco, Missouri; by her brother, John Pyles of Bloomfield, Missouri; by five sisters, Cathy Pyles and Helen Carter both of Dexter, Missouri, Jeanne Stewart of Bernie, Missouri, Wanda Fink of Baltimore, Maryland, and Jan Wells of Oklahoma; by eleven grandchildren, Leslie Razer, Abby Razer, Evany Razer, Alexis Walker, Lane Razer, Kynli Shawn, Syrenati Shawn, Layla Foster, Nala Foster, Bailey James, and Alison Cooper; and by her great-grandchild, Hazley Cooper.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Hill; and by her sister, Rose Clampett.

Thomas Wayne Bacon, son of the late William Don Bacon and Janice Ann Bacon Asberry, was born on June 6, 1957, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and departed this life on June 19, 2022, at SoutheastHealth of Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 65.
Mr. Bacon was a resident of Bloomfield, Missouri and had worked various jobs in the carpentry field.
He is survived by his son, Zach Bacon and wife Alecia of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by his daughter, Samantha Gallamore and husband Terry of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by his long-time companion, Juanita Bacon of Dexter, Missouri; and by his brother, Kenneth Bacon of Dexter, Missouri.
A memorial service will be conducted at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Zion Cemetery near Leora.

Lonnie D. Moss, 75, of Wappapello, MO, passed peacefully while sleeping on June 19, 2022.
Lonnie was born to Fred and Jewell Moss in Wappapello, MO, on December 8, 1946. After graduating from Puxico High School in 1965, Lonnie soon enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served, both stateside and abroad, for four years.
While in high school Lonnie met the love of his life and late wife, Shirley (Hicks) Moss. They were united in marriage on January 2, 1966. Lonnie and Shirley enjoyed many years with their nieces and nephews before welcoming their beloved son, Lesslie, after many years of marriage.
Following his military service, Lonnie and Shirley called Puxico, MO, home for several years and he was an entrepreneur building tanks and wood heating stoves at H & H Manufacturing. Lonnie and Shirley then moved to the Cape Girardeau, MO, where he worked for Jim Wilson, Co. for several years before retiring. After retirement, Lonnie's entrepreneurial spirit was revived with his pneumatics businesses, Heartland Pneumatics and LDM Equipment, which he owned and operated for several years.
Lonnie enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and visiting with friends at the Wappapello VFW post 3416. Lonnie especially enjoyed his Friday nights at the "V" playing Queen of Hearts. Lonnie's most loved pastime was visiting with his family, especially with his son and Lesslie's sweetheart Melissa. Lonnie was an uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom he loved dearly and became known as "Uncle Money" when a great-niece mispronounced Lonnie saying money instead.
Lonnie is survived by his son Lesslie Moss (Melissa Taylor) of Charleston, MO; his sister, Janet (James) Smith of Rochester, WA; his sister-in-law Carolyn (Terry) Taylor of Dexter, MO; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and two brothers, Carroll Moss and Connie Moss.
Visitation services will be held at Watkins Funeral Home in Puxico, MO, on June 29th from 10:00 am-11:00 am with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 am.
