Louis Allen Schwent, son of Beverly McCurter Schwent Iisac and the late Louis Joseph Schwent, was born in Granite City, Illinois on September 25, 1969 and departed this life at his residence in Bernie on June 17, 2022 at the age of 52.

Mr. Schwent had served his country in the National Guards and had been deployed to Iraq for 18 months. He had been Plant Manager at IXL in Bernie for 20 years. He was a resident of Bernie and was of Christian Faith.

Survivors include his fiancé, Janet Rose of Bernie, Missouri; by two sons, Louis “Bubby” Schwent & wife Tayler, Skyler Schwent all of Bernie, Missouri; by two daughters, Lara Roberts & fiancé Daryl Vise of Dexter, Missouri and Summer Crowder & husband Charles of Bernie, Missouri; by two step-daughters, Sarah Pohlman & husband David of Sedgewickville, Missouri and Rachel Cauble of Oran, Missouri; by one brother David Benson of St. Louis, Missouri; by two sisters, Dawn Benson of St. Louis, Missouri and Sherry Toia in New Zealand; by sixteen grandchildren; by one great-grandchild; also by nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his father, by one sister, Susan K. West.

Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.

Funeral services will then be conducted June 22, 2022, in the Mathis Funeral Chapel at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
