
Dexter, MO - The Lady Cats 2022 Swing Pink Softball Tournament was held on Saturday, April 23rd with 16 teams in attendance.
Pool A included Neelyville, Twin Rivers, Oran and Holcomb.
Pool B included Doniphan, Clearwater, Risco, and East Prairie.
Pool C included Meadow Heights, Greenville, Van Buren and Bernie.
Pool D included Clarkton, Senath, Bloomfield and Dexter.
Bernie, Van Buren, and Greenville all tied for their pool. Dexter won their pool.
Dexter defeated Clarkton 15-0 to start off the tournament. They beat Senath-Hornersville 6-3 and shut-out Bloomfield 13-0 to win their pool.
The Swing Pink Softball Tournament began in 2013.
"It's just a great environment and there are not a lot of tournaments in the spring for softball," stated Starla Pulley. "The girls love it and seeing 16 teams come together to raise money for cancer is just wonderful."

Dexter, MO - The Dexter Bearcats Tennis Team hosted the Cape Central Tigers on Senior Night on Monday, April 25th. Rain finally moved out of the region and the courts were nice and dry.
Cape Central came out on top 6-3,
"Another hard fought match," commented head coach Eric Boles. "One that very easily could have gone the Bearcats way."
Logan Jones and Drew Chamberlain won their doubles match over Cape Central's Zachary Borowiak and Eann Gardner.
Peyton Boles won his singles match over Elijah Peters and Lawon Blocker won his singles match over Zachar Borowiak.

Jackson, MO - Cy Worley of Dexter High School shot an even-par 36, leading Dexter to a win over Saxony Lutheran and Clearwater at Bent Creek Golf Course on Friday, April 22, 2022.
"Cy did very well at Bent Creek," commented head golf coach Eric Sitze.
Dexter totaled 172, Saxony scored 215 and Clearwater ended with a total of 210.
Dylan Sitze finished with +4 over par with a score of 40. Other scores for Dexter were Tucker Temples 46, Alyssa Warren with 50, and Matt Hardin with 52.
Nate Norris shot 42 to lead Clearwater. Other scores for Clearwater were Will Morris 56, Connor Roberts 62, Gavin Harbison 50, and Tim Aubuchon 67.
Mike Hasz shot 45 to lead Saxony Lutheran. Other scores for Saxony were Logan Pruitt 49, Ty Seabaugh 53, and Madelyn Davis 68.
Dexter will host on Wednesday at Hidden Trails Country Club at 4 p.m. It's Senior Night!

Kennett, MO - The Dexter Bearcats baseball team traveled to Kennett on Friday evening falling behind early and couldn't come back in a 14-1 loss to the Indians.
Kennett (12-2) scored on a home run by Reese Robinett, a single by JT Williams, a single by Matt Gardner, a double by Bodey Ellis, a double by Tanner Pierce, a double by Brooks Nigut, and a double by Robinett all in the first inning. Ten runs were scored in the first inning for the Indians. Four of those runs came from Reese Robinett, as he hit two home runs in the first inning alone, both with a runner on second.
Kaeden Kennedy singled in the first inning to bring in the Bearcats only run.
Williams led the Indians to victory on the mound. He surrendered one run on three hits over five innings, striking out eight.
The Indians collected 12 hits. Robinett, Pierce, and Tanner Duncan each had multiple hits for Kennett. Robinett was 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Kennett in hits.
Dexter (9-7) struggled to contain the high-powered offense of the Kennett Indians, giving up 12 runs.
Kennedy, Camden Riley and Jackson Howard each managed one hit to lead Dexter.
With a 14-1 win over Dexter, the Kennett Indians were able to get in and out and played only five innings due to the mercy rule.

The Dexter 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams recently held their annual Hits for Hope games.
The teams raised nearly $5,000 which was donated to 18 ForLife.
