DHS Tennis Team Takes a Loss in Home Opener

Dexter, MO - The Dexter high school boys tennis team hosted the Poplar Bluff Mules on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at their home opener.  Poplar Bluff won the match 7-2

Dexter's Peyton Boles and Drake Channell won their singles matches. Boles won 9-8 (7-3) and Channell won 8-3.

"Poplar Bluff has depth down the roster and that made a tremendous difference today," commented head tennis coach Eric Boles. "This year will be a challenge for the Bearcats."

The Mules swept the doubles matches.

"We have a very young team," continued Boles. "Of the 10 total players, we have only one who has 2 or more years of experience."

The Bearcats put out 3 varsity players with zero playing experience at all and two athletes with only one year of experience.

"We will continue to improve and we will be much better at the end of the season than we will be at the start."
