In Memory of Rosalie Hendry

Rosalie Hendry of Wappapello, Missouri daughter to Mark and Florence (Crider) Barnhart on August 29, 1944 in St. Louis County and died on March 10, 2022 in Puxico, Missouri at the age of 77 years.

She was married to Richard Dale Hendry in 1961.  She was of the Baptist Faith.

Rosalie is survived by her three sons Doug Hendry of Wappapello, Missouri, Charles Hendry of Eldon, Missouri and Richard Hendry of Lake Ozark, Missouri; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four brothers Mark Barnhart of Tuscumbia, Missouri, Ivy Barnhart of Eldon, Missouri, Ed Barnhart of Eldon, Missouri and Larry Barnhart and one sister Edda Barnhouse. She is preceded in death by several brothers.  A host of family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be Sunday March 13, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Graveside Funeral Service will by on March 14, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Puxico Cemetery in Puxio, Missouri with Brother Mark Hulse of  Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating. 

Interment will follow at the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri.  With Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Genevieve Elsie Miller

Genevieve Elsie Miller, daughter of the late Martin Tripp and Marie Reeder Tripp, was born on August 25, 1929, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and departed this life on March 4, 2022, at Southeast Health of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 92 years.

Mrs. Miller worked on the farm with her husband Harold.

On December 7, 1962, in Dexter, Missouri she was united in marriage to Harold Miller. Mr. Miller preceded her in death on November 20, 2019.

Survivors include one daughter, Dianne Stanberry of Poplar Bluff; by one sister, Darlene McNeelis of Poplar Bluff; by two grandchildren, Gary Ron Clark and Shawn Brian Clark both of Poplar Bluff; and by several great- grandchildren.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Larry and Steven Rievely; and by seven siblings.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Cheshire officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Stoddard County Children’s Home, PO Box 164, Dexter, Missouri 63841.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

Kathryn McClain of Bloomfield, Missouri died on March 02, 2022 at Bloomfield Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri. 

She was born May 12, 1934 to Ralph and Nurcine Graves.  Kathryn graduated from the Bloomfield High School.  She was employed by the State of Missouri for 45 years.  She was a member of the first Baptist Church of Bloomfield.

She and Wilbur McClain were Married September 10, 1955.

Kathryn is survived by her husband Wilbur McClain; two daughters Cindy (Gary) Hays of Bloomfield, Missouri and Kelly (Steve) Nickell of Lexington, Missouri; your grandchildren Chad, Brooke, Scott and Seth; three great grandchildren Yasmin, Marvin, Faith and Westin.  

 Private family service will be at a later date.  With Watkins and Sons Funeral Services of Bloomfield in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Wanda Lee Hill

Wanda Lee Hill, daughter of the late Lloyd Abbott and Hazel Edwards Abbott, was born on November 19, 1939 and departed this life at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri on March 1, 2022 at the age of 82.

Mrs. Hill was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden, Missouri. She was of Church of Christ faith and a resident of Bernie.

She was united in marriage to Robert Calvin Hill in the State of Michigan on June 14, 1956. Mr. Hill preceded his wife in death on March 2, 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Biggs & husband Larry of Bernie and Saundra Hill of Bernie, Missouri; by two brothers, Gary Abbott of Malden, Missouri and Henry Abbott of the State of California; by two sisters, Mary Hill of Powe, Missouri and Agnes McCoy of Clarkton, Missouri; by one granddaughter, Monica Okon & husband Dominic of Bel Aire, Kansas; by two grandsons, Jaden and Jordan Okon; also by other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband, by four brothers, Johnny Abbott, Lester Abbott, Carl Eugene Abbott and Jeffery Abbott.

Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 PM in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Saturday, March 5, 2022 with David Blevins officiating. 

Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery.

Mathis Funeral Home of Bernie is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Michael Wayne Johnson

Michael Wayne Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri son of the late Donald Hampton and Clara Ruth (Case) Johnson born on October 16, 1955 in Pulaski Tennessee, passed away on February 27, 2022 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 67 years. 

Michael lived most of his life near Ashland, Tennessee until he  moved to Poplar Bluff, Missouri eight years ago. He was a member of the Mount Calvary Power House Church. Michael was in the maintenance field and was employed by the Goodwill of Poplar Bluff Missouri.

Michael was proceeded in death by his parents Donald and Clara Johnson; one sister Donna Johnson. 

Michael is survived by four sisters Teresa Teets of Jackson, Missouri, Sandra Kimble of Newark, Delaware, Hollie Ray of Jacksonville, Florida and Kimberly Johnson of Nashville Tennessee.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.  

Visitation will be from  11:00 A.M - 1:00  P.M  on Wednesday March 2, 2022  with funeral service following at the Watkins And Sons Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield, Missouri. Internment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Bishop Ron Webb of Poplar Bluff Missouri officiating and Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
