In Memory of Shirley Ruth Tippen

Shirley Ruth Tippen, daughter of the late Bland Dennington and Gertie Bell Menley Dennington, was born on November 17, 1935, in Lilbourn, Missouri, and departed this life on February 10, 2022, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 86 years.

Mrs. Tippen was a former employee of Walgreens in Maplewood, Missouri and a resident of Puxico, Missouri.

She is survived by her brother, James Dennington of Malden, Missouri; by two grandchildren, Jeremy Skaggs and Jennifer Skaggs; by her great-granddaughter, Aylisa Skaggs; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Tippen; by her brother, Robert Dennington; and by three sisters, Maxine Steward, June Patterson, and Mary Wells.

No services are planned.

In Memory of Nina Beth Williamson

Nina Beth Williamson, daughter of the late Jesse Horn and Alie Eagan Horn, was born on June 21, 1948, in Strawberry, Arkansas, and departed this life on February 7, 2022, at her residence in Essex, Missouri at the age of 73 years.

Mrs. Williamson had worked at Faurecia in Dexter, Missouri, for 15 years as a welder and was a resident of Essex. She loved her grandkids and great grandkids.

On December 11, 1971, in Essex, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Herman “John” Williamson. Mr. Williamson preceded her in death on May 14, 2013.

She is survived by two daughters; Kim Lavy and husband Randall of Troy, Missouri, Janie Pinkley and husband Cody of Essex, Missouri; by two brother, Jess Horn of Dexter and Terry Gene Horn of Jacksonville, Florida; by her sister; Nadine Teeters of Circle City, Missouri; by ten grandchildren, Cody Werkmeister and Nick Werkmeister both of Troy, Missouri, Tori Rogers and husband Alex of Broseley, Missouri, Taylor Rogers and husband Warren of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Tia Rogers and husband Lance of Puxico, Missouri, Trista Rogers, Trinity Pinkley, Baylie Pinkley, William Pinkley and Elijah Pinkley all of Essex, Missouri; by five great-grandchildren, Holt, Tulsa, Wrenley, Axel and Ace; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Other than by her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, four sisters, and three brothers.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri.

In Memory of Lela Mae Cooper

Lela Mae Cooper, daughter of the late Billie Moore and Alma Eaker Moore, was born on April 6, 1929, in Malden, Missouri, and departed this life on February 7, 2022, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri, at the age of 92 years.

Mrs. Cooper was a former seamstress for the Gossard Plant in Malden, Missouri. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter.

On June 14, 1947, in Bernie, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Rev. Don Cooper. Rev. Cooper preceded her in death on February 21, 2015.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Corbin of Dexter, Missouri and Gloria Roberts and husband Rick of Ozark, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Kevin Corbin and wife Karen, Tammy Stubblefield and husband Ernie, Deana Brents and husband Kevin, Christi Hubbard and husband Brad, Erick Roberts and wife Shannon, and Alicia Swofford and fiancé Rodney Hill; by fourteen great-grandchildren, Taylor Corbin, Jackson Hubbard, Madissen Asher and husband Logan, Jacquelyn Corbin, Jeb Hubbard, Josh Brents, Grace Roberts, Kason Swofford, Hope Roberts, Teagan Swofford, Ericka Roberts, Jagger Swofford, Rachel Hill, and Paisley Hill; and by four great-great grandchildren, Emmett Corbin, Evelyn Corbin, Caleb Brents, and Evelyn Brents.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Moore and by her son-in-law, Sherrill Corbin.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, February 13, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Travis Lambert officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Lawrence (Larry/Maynard) Francis Steimle

Lawrence (Larry/Maynard) Francis Steimle of Wappapello, Missouri son of the late Charles (Chas) and Clara L (Weissmueller) Steimle born on August 10, 1945 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and passed away on February 10, 2022 in Wappapello, Missouri surrounded by his loving family at the age of 76 years. 

Originally from New Hamburg, Missouri, Larry also lived in Benton, Missouri and then in Wappapello, Missouri for the past several years.  Larry was a member of the VFW Post 3416 of Wappapello, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf and was a fastpitch softball pitcher for 45 years. Larry was of the Catholic Faith. 

Larry married Martha Niehaus on October 28, 1988 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. 

Larry is survived by his wife Martha Steimle; two daughters, Janelle (Tracy) Price of Benton, Missouri and Michelle Winsor of Portageville, Missouri; one son, Landon (Alice) Steimle of Oxford, Mississippi; two step-daughters, Tracie (Joe) Patton of Land o’ Lakes, Florida and Pamela (Greg) Lee of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and one step-son, Jerry (Julie) Foriester of Campbell, Missouri; one brother, Marvin (Bettye) Steimle of Pacific, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Torie (Ben) Riley, Gavin Price, Alex Winsor, Evan Winsor, Andrew Steimle, Mary-Claire Steimle, Cade Foriester, Caris Foriester, Amy Patton, Cheyenne Patton, Eddie Eastham; one great-granddaughter Ellie Riley and one great-granddaughter on the way, Heidi Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles (Chas) and Clara Steimle. A host of family and friends also survive. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Denis Catholic Church in Benton, Missouri with a Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Larry’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Children’s Hospital in St. Louis and/or VFW post 3416 in Wappapello.

In Memory of Bernice Schultz

Bernice Schultz of St. Louis, Missouri daughter of the late Charles and Della Hayes born on November 26, 1926 in Fisk, Missouri and passed away on February 11, 2022 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 95 years. 

Bernice was married to Frank Lashman in 1957 until his passing on September 20, 1991.  She later married Charles Schultz until his passing.  

Bernice was of the Pentecostal Faith.  She had a huge heart and loved everyone.  She was an amazing mother.  Her interest included telling jokes, laughing and dancing.

Surviving Bernice is one son Alvin (Charlotte) Lashman of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter Betty (David) Hunt of Memphis, Tennesse; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; one brother is Pete Hayes and one sister June Marler. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Della Hayes and one brother Frank Hayes.  A host of friends and family also survive. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 15, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Graveside services will follow at Mole Hill Cemetery near Brosley, Missouri with Brother Charlie Robertson officiating and Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Puxico  in charge of all arrangements.
