In Memory of Marguerite Dunn

In Memory of Marguerite Dunn

Marguerite Dunn, daughter of the late William Dunn and Marguerite Angel Dunn, was born on June 4, 1950, in Oneida, New York, and departed this life on January 14, 2022, at the Southeast Health of Stoddard County at the age of 71.

Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker and a member of the Bloomfield Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by one son, Walter Mayers II and wife Anastasia of Wells, New York; by three daughters, Amby Barnes of Bloomfield, Missouri, Kimberly Bogey of Jamestown, New York, Rebecca Angell and her special companion Brad Cook both of Frankford, Missouri; by two brothers, William Dunn of South Florida and Robert Dunn of Margate, Florida; by one sister, Barbara Lane of Charlotte, North Carolina and by six grandchildren, Emily Barnes, Brianna Dunn, Darren Dunn, Samuel Mayers, Logan Mayers, and Chloe Mayers.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Angelina Dunn.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bloomfield Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dwight Hensley officiating.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting the family with all arrangements.

In Memory of James Robert Helton

James Robert Helton, son of the late Herbert Helton and Maggie Clinton Helton, was born on March 31, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, and departed this life on January 13, 2022, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 86 years.

Mr. Helton was a member of the National Guard, and he was a former retail manager for TG&Y and Woolworths.

He was united in marriage to Dora Mae Whitaker in Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Helton preceded him in death on February 22, 2005.

He is survived by two sons, James David Helton and Robert John Helton, both of Dexter, Missouri; and by two grandchildren, John Helton and Christopher Helton, both of Dexter, Missouri.

No services are currently planned.

In Memory of Mark Anthony Cobb

Mark Anthony Cobb, son of the late Vonda Cobb and Viola Wheetley Cobb, was born on October 3, 1957, in Santa Cruz, Arizona, and departed this life on January 13, 2022, at his residence in Vanduser, Missouri, at the age of 64 years.

Mr. Cobb was a Veteran of the United States Army, and he was a technician with Service Master.

On April 22, 1986, in East Prairie, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Diane Wheatley. Mrs. Cobb survives of their home in Vanduser.

In addition to his wife Diane, he is survived by two sons, Jeremy Cobb and wife Amy of Matthews, Missouri, and Robert Cobb and wife Stephany of Sikeston, Missouri; by his daughter, Rachel Cobb and companion Reeko Reedus of Portageville, Missouri; by four sisters, Brenda Patterson of Cookville, Tennessee, Ruth Anspach of Sikeston, Missouri, Debbie Farrenburg of Farrenburg, Missouri, and Karen Lee of Bernie, Missouri; and by four grandchildren, Gage Cobb, Jada Cobb, Zoe Cobb, and Phoenix Cobb.

Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary Cobb, Larry Cobb, and Mike Cobb; and by his grandson, Chase Cobb.

Graveside services will be conducted at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with full military honors.

Steven Wayne Cagle, son of Charles Wayne Cagle and the late Marilyn Edwards Cagle, was born on July 13, 1971, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and departed this life on January 13, 2022, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky, at the age of 50 years.

Mr. Cagle was a residential general contractor and a resident of Bloomfield, Missouri.

He is survived by his father, Charles Wayne Cagle of Bloomfield; by two sons, Matthew Cagle and wife Makayla of Broseley, and Jacob Cagle of Poplar Bluff; by his daughter, Madison Cagle of Poplar Bluff; by his sister, Cheryl Christian and husband Steve of Dexter; and by two grandchildren, Braxton Cagle and Briar Cagle.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, January 17, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the West Pleasant Valley Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

In Memory of Shirley Ann Haney

Shirley Ann Haney of Puxico, Missouri, daughter of the late Ester Elmore and Jessie (Hutchison) Elmore born on July 20, 1935 in Duck Creek, Missouri passed away on January 11, 2022 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 86 years. 

She lived in Puxico, Missouri for the last 50 years.  Shirley’s home church was West Pleasant Valley Church in Bloomfield, Missouri.  She volunteered at and was on the board for the Stoddard County Children’s Home in Bloomfield.  She loved to cook and bake.  

Shirley married Avery Haney on April 23, 1971 in Bloomfield, Missouri.  

Shirley is survived by her husband Avery Haney; one daughter Shawn (Roger) Butler of St. Charles, Missouri; four grandchildren Ian Ross Butler, Jillian Renee Butler, Jessica (Robert) Yount and Jacob Pulley; one great granddaughter Kylee Dees; one daughter-in-law Marlene Pulley-Denton of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one niece Malea (Paul) Zwick of Gainesville, Florida; one nephew Phillip (Susan) Burklow; very great friends Lloyd and Linda Hull of Puxico, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents Estel and Jessie Elmore; one son Gregg Pulley; two brothers Bill Elmore and Glen Elmore and one sister Louise Burklow.  A host of family and friends also survive.   

Visitation will be held on Friday January 14, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri

Funeral Services will be held on Friday January 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri with Brother Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating and Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Puxico in charge of all arrangements.

Interment will be held at the Brown Chapel Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri.
