In Memory of Billy (Bill) Gene Davis

Billy (Bill) Gene Davis died unexpectedly on November 29, 2021, at the age of 64 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. Bill had moved back to Missouri five months previously.

Bill was born August 21, 1957, to Jerrel Eugene “Pete” Davis and Diana Joyce Hartline Davis in Malden, Missouri. Both preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Dexter High School Senior Class of 1976.

Bill served in the Army. He held many different jobs, but his favorite was when he worked as a civilian on the Army base in Germany.

Bill had been disabled for some time. Bill loved to joke around and have fun. He enjoyed making people smile. He loved listening to music. More than anything, Bill enjoyed spending time with those he loved. Bill had a relationship with God and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family and friends deeply.

Bill was married to his former wife Donna Davis for 41 years and to that union was born two daughters. He is survived by his daughter LaJeanna (James) Degraffenreid of Clinton, Missouri, his daughter Yvonne Shirley of Gibsonton, Florida and former wife Donna Davis of Clinton, Missouri. Bill was blessed with four grandchildren-Gabrielle Davis, Anthony Taylor-Davis, Brianna Davis, and Colton Shirley. Bill is survived by his brother David Davis from Tacoma, Washington, his sister Dina Grubbs of Dexter, Missouri, his sister Emma (Randy)Fowler of Lilbourn, Missouri, and his sister Tracey (Larry)Roberts of Warsaw, Missouri. Bill is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

The funeral will be held at a future date with the Reverend William Davis officiating.

The service will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

He will be laid to rest by his parents at the Old Bethel Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Mathis Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
