Wilma Jean “Jeanie” Proffer of Poplar Bluff, MO met her Heavenly Father Friday, November 5, 2021, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family. Her faith and courage were an inspiration to many.
Jeanie was born Mach 10, 1936, to William Elmer and Laura Scoggins Aud in Poplar Bluff, MO. She married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Laverne Proffer in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2018.
She was a member of Collins Chapel Church and worked in accounting at the Daily American Republic for 30 years.
She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and reading, but her most treasured times were spent with her family.
Other survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Bobby) Seawright, Sharon (Mark) Guethle; four grandchildren, Steve (Glenda) Seawright, Stephanie (Keith) Hefner, Shawn (Nicole) Guethle, Christopher (Maddie) Guethle; six great grandchildren, Emily (Clayton) Carpenter, Will, Gabbie, Ben, Norah & Emmett Guethle and a great-grandson on the way.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Lillie Aud, Francis Aud, Thelma Jones and Mary Allen, one brother Carl Aud, one son-in-law Keith Sentell, one granddaughter Christina Sentell and one great granddaughter Christina Guethle.
Visitation will begin from 3 to 6 pm Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel with Rev. Dennis Aud officiating. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
