
Thomas Bernard Mekan, son of the late Lawrence Albert Mekan and Mildred Marie Arnold Mekan, was born In Powe, Missouri on January 10, 1953 and departed this life in Arcadia Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, California on October 24, 2021 at the age of 68.
Mr. Mekan was a veteran of The United States Marines, and was a mechanic. He was of Pentecostal faith, and a resident of Temple City, California.
He was united in marriage to Yolanda Olivares on March 23, 1985. Ms. Mekan survives in their home in Temple City, Ca.
Other survivors include, one son, Thomas Mekan Jr. of Temple City, California; by one daughter, Ruby Mekan of Temple City, California; by three brothers, David Mekan of Winona, Missouri, Gene Mekan of Bernie, Missouri and Ivan Mekan of Dexter, Missouri; by two sisters, Carolyn Mekan of Bernie, Missouri and Violetta Mastilovich of St. Louis, Missouri; by four grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by one brother, Bill Mekan; by four sisters, Launita McNeal, Margaret Parks, Ava June Armes and Francis Mekan.
Friends may call on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Gilbert officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
