In Memory of Gail Gibson

Gail Gibson, was born Eileen Gail Woodall in Lincoln County, Tennessee, on December 3, 1947, at 8:40 a.m. to the late Herman and Lillie Debois Woodall, and passed away on October 14, 2021, at 3:47 p.m. in Dexter, Missouri, at her home with her family.

Gail was united in marriage to Dennis Gibson on December 23, 1967. She worked as a beautician and owned her own beauty salon in Dexter for many years, finishing up her working career at Harrah’s Casino in Metropolis, Illinois, where she made many friends, she considered family.

Gail was a member of Risen Church in Dexter, where she loved to visit nursing homes to sing.

Gail is survived by her husband, Dennis Gibson and her son, Travis Gibson, both of Dexter, Missouri; by her stepdaughter, Lynn Hubbert of Morley, Missouri, by two sisters, Nancy Cooper of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Cathy DeMeyer of St. Louis, Missouri, and by two grandchildren, Brandi and Cody.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Woodall of Matthews, Missouri, and Pete Woodall of Alabama; by four sisters, Virginia Masters of Michigan, Wanda Atchley of St. Louis, Missouri, Carolyn Burns of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Nina Reed of Jackson, Missouri.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Alex Stack officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Mathis Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
