In Memory of Dorothy L Callahan

Dorothy L Callahan of Festus, Missouri born to the late Euell and Ruby (Hodge) Page on February 09, 1943 in Puxico, Missouri passed away at Mercy hospital in St Louis, Missouri on October 13, 2021 at the age of 78 years, 8 months & 4 days.

Dorothy married Darrell Callahan on December 18th 1963.  They owned Callahan's Southern Kitchen in Imperial, Missouri and then in Arnold, Missouri for a total of 18 years.  She enjoyed crocheting, camping, word puzzles, playing aggravation with friends & family.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Darrell Callahan; three sons Keith (Liz) Callahan of Pevely, Missouri, Kenny (Cathy) Callahan of Greenville, Missouri and Randy (Tammy) Callahan of Festus, Missouri; one daughter Ronda Lampley of Festus, Missouri; one grandson Danny Callahan of Festus, Missouri; six step grandchildren, and thirteen step great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Lou (Hobart) Scott and Donis (Kenneth) Wheetley.  A host of family and friends also survive.  The family wants to extend a special thank you to Patient Care Tech Judy Dorothy enjoyed her company and her personal care went above and beyond.  A special thank you to her pulmonologist Dr. Matuschak for all the care & compassion he gave.  An extra special thank you to her grandson Danny for all the love and care you gave to grandma.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 19, 2021 from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. 

Funeral Services will be held on October 19, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. with Brother Johnny Gibosn of Van Buren, Missouri officiating. Watkins and Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.  

Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri.

In Memory of Deanna Jeanette Metz

Deanna Jeanette Metz born to the late Charles and Myrtle (Scritchfield) Gallamore on October 10, 1939 in Chionia, Missouri passed away on October 15, 2021 in Kennett, Missouri at the age of 82 years. 

Deanna was married to Alvin Metz on July 12, 2003 in Dexter, Missouri.  She was of the Christian Faith.  She had lived in the Dexter area most of her life.  

Deanna is survived by two sons Brenden Stevenson of Finley, Tennessee and Tim Stevenson of Glasgow, Kentucky; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three sisters Lela Douglas of Brownwood, Missouri, Verna Skaggs of Lowndes, Missouri and Melba Barks of Sullivan, Missouri.  She was preceded in death one grandson Cody Stevenson; one sister Joyce McGee and one brother Charles Gallamore.  A host of family and  friends also survive.

Visitation will be held on Sunday October 17, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday October 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Brother Franky Radford of Perryville, Missouri officiating. Watkins and Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.  

Interment will follow at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri.

In Memory of Randolph “Randy” Dale Williams

Randolph “Randy” Dale Williams, son of the late Joe Robert Williams and Wretha Mae Cobb Minton, was born in Dexter, Missouri on March 19, 1967 and departed this life at his residence In Bernie, Missouri on October 11, 2021 at the Age of 54.

Mr. Williams was a Auto Mechanic. He attended New Beginnings Christian Outreach in Rural Malden, Missouri.

Survivors include one son, Zach Williams of Campbell, Missouri; his companion, Latisha Dettrie of Bernie, Missouri; by five brothers, Robert Williams, of Barstow, California, Ronnie Williams of Bernie, Missouri, David Williams of Holcomb, Missouri, Donnie Williams of Dexter, Missouri and Ricky Williams of Parma, Missouri; by five sisters, Carol Lacey of Scott City, Missouri, Barbara Joe of St. Louis, Missouri, Peggy Weems of Malden, Missouri, Ann Weems of Morrisville, the State of Tennessee and Patricia Chance of Bernie, Missouri; also by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by two brothers, Wayne Williams and Stevie Williams; by two sisters, Joyce Moore and Mona Weems.

A Memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, October 16, 2021 starting at 1:00 P.M. at New Beginnings Christian Outreach, 43382 Highway 25, Malden, Missouri 63833.

Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie is assisting with arrangements.

Christopher Lee Hendley, 50, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021.

He was born July 13, 1971, to Danny and Charlotte Hendley.

Christopher enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his parents, Danny and Charlotte Hendley; and aunts, Betty West, Bonnie Foster, Becky Kimbel, Dorothy Johnson, Linda Eaton, Donna Ervin, and Sandy Murray.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 13, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home.

The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Michael Kimble officiating. Burial will follow at Hartsoe Cemetery.

In Memory of Joy Lynn Evans

Joy Lynn Evans, daughter of the late William “Bill” Evans and Patricia “Pat” Davidson Evans, was born on March 11, 1955, and departed this life on October 8, 2021, at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the age of 66 years

She is survived by three nephews, Nathaniel Gray of Conway, Arkansas, Jeffrey Gray of Harrisburg, Arkansas, and Derrick Gray of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pam Gray.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter.

Memorials may be made to the Stoddard County ARC, PO Box 444, Dexter, Missouri 63841
