The tournament is divided into a Red Division and a Black Division. There are 24 teams in the Red Division and 36 teams in the Black Division. All teams have been placed into pools of four and will be guaranteed a minimum of five (5) matches over the course of the tournament. Based upon your finish in the initial three pool play matches, teams will then move to the pool play challenge round to determine their placement on the single elimination pre- determined playoff bracket.
In the Red Division, twelve (12) teams will be placed in the gold bracket with the remaining twelve (12) teams being placed into a silver bracket. The top two teams from each pool after their first three pool play matches will be guaranteed to advance into the red gold bracket. The challenge pool play match will place the number one teams crossing over to a pool playing the number two teams and the outcome of your challenge match will then determine your final bracket placement. Teams finishing third or fourth in the initial pool play will be guaranteed to advance in the 12 team predetermined red sliver bracket and will be placed on the playoff bracket according to pool play challenge match outcome.
In the Black Division, the top two teams in the initial pool play will be guaranteed to advance in the 18 team pre- determined black gold bracket and will be placed on the playoff bracket according to pool play challenge match outcome. The third or fourth place teams in the initial pool play will be guaranteed to advance in the 18 team pre- determined black silver bracket and will be placed on the playoff bracket according to pool play challenge match outcome.
Ranking teams prior to the pool play challenge match will be as follows:
1. Sets won/sets lost
2. Head to head
3. Point ratio
If a tie still remains to determine ranking, a one point set to 15 points will break the tie if it would prevent a team from moving to the gold bracket.
Should a tie occur on the point ratio, gold or silver bracket placement will be determined by a playoff set to 15 between the tied teams. If a tie occurs but does not eliminate a team from gold, then a flip of a coin will determine the bracket placement. NO TEAM WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM GOLD FROM A FLIP OF A COIN.
The tournament will consist of two sessions: Session one is Friday pool play. Session two is Saturday morning pool play and Saturday afternoon tournament play. Adult admission for Session one (Friday) will be $5.00 and Session two (Saturday) inclusive of tournament play will be $10.00. Tournament only admission is $5.00. The admission for high school age students or younger will be $4.00 per day. Tickets purchased for a session will allow entry into each participating facility during that same session.
All brackets and schedules are on the ShowMe Times Facebook page.
