In Memory of Abraham Lincoln Maclin

Abraham Lincoln Maclin, son of the late Robert Maclin and Lula McPeak Maclin was born on September 3, 1929 in Etowah, Arkansas and departed this life on August 27, 2021 in O’Fallon, Missouri at the age of 91. 

Mr. Maclin was a Veteran of the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War.  He was a “jack” of all trades, working various jobs including, farming, maintenance, and carpentry.  He was a deacon at the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston and was also employed at the Stoddard County Gospel Mission.  His family was everything to him and he enjoyed being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

On July 18, 1956 in Peach Orchard, Missouri Abraham was united in marriage to Violetta Welch. Mrs. Maclin preceded him in death on October 6, 2013.

He is survived by his son; Randall “Randy” Maclin and wife Cheryl of Bishop Georgia; by his daughter, Michele Maclin of Parma, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Kristin Farra, Dustin Maclin, and Andrea Mealor; by five great- grandchildren, Brandon Kramer, Jada Kramer, Mikayla Riley, Kason Mealor, and Josie Mealor; by one brother; John Maclin of Bernie, Missouri; and by one sister, Mary Hutson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. 

Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Lincoln Maclin in infancy; by two brothers, R.A. Maclin and J.B. Maclin; and by four sisters, Marie Parker, Billie Jean Ellis, Lou Ellen Ollis and Ruby Green. 

Visitation will be held at the Mathis Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Larry Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.
