In Memory of Paul David McGhee

Paul David McGhee passed away August 15, 2021, at his home in Deltona, Florida at age 61.  David is the son of Paul McGhee and Joan “Phelan” McGhee, David was born October 27, 1959.  His mother Joan preceded him in death in 1972.

David is survived by his father Paul McGhee, brother Stuart McGhee (Donna) of Wildwood, Missouri, sister Laura McGhee of Dexter, Missouri and many cousins and other family members.

David graduated from Dexter High School in 1978 and Southeast Missouri State University in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and worked in the food service industry for many years, the last 10 working for Freshens, Inc. as the southeastern US District Manager.

A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 12:30 PM at the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Stoddard County Children’s Home, PO Box 164, Dexter, MO 63841.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Donny Ray Williams

Donny Ray Williams son of the late Russell “Tobe” Williams and Mary Palmer Williams was born on April 7, 1947 in Bloomfield, Missouri and departed this life on August 28, 2021 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 74 years.

Mr. Williams was a Veteran of the United States Army. Donny was the owner and operator of a commercial cleaning business, and a heavy equipment operator. He was also a member of the American Legion in Dexter.

On May 5, 2017 in Orange Beach, Alabama he was united in marriage to Barbara Dugan. Mrs. Williams survives of their home in Dexter.

Other than by his wife Barbara, he is survived by one son Bruce Lee Jones and wife Kira of Chelsea, Alabama; three daughters, Dawn “Dee” Simpson and husband Randall of Dexter, Shawana Williams- Pugh and husband David of Bloomfield, and Michelle Fortner and husband Kenneth of Puxico; ten grandchildren, Whitney Miller, Colton Jones, Morgan Jones, Cody Simpson, Chase Simpson, Lily Simpson, Chelsey William- Flores, Lindsey Williams, Kendra Vaughn and Lauren Fortner; eight great- grandchildren; one brother, John Williams and wife Cathy of Bloomfield, by one sister Brenda Conner of Dexter, and by many close friends and extended family.

Visitation will be conducted on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Brother Dale Rogers officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Bonnie Marie Stafford

Bonnie Marie Stafford, daughter of the late Harold Miller and Ruth Roberts McBride, was born on April 20, 1949 in Dexter Missouri and departed this life on August 26, 2021 at Southeast health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 72 years.

Mrs. Stafford was a homemaker and was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Dexter.

On May 11, 1968, in Essex Missouri, she was united in marriage to Chester Roy Stafford. Mr. Stafford survives of their home.

Other than her husband, Roy she is survived by two sons, Kevin Stafford of Dexter, and Tony Stafford of Cape Girardeau; by two grandchildren, Drew Stafford and Megan Stafford; by three great- grandchildren, Mckinlee Stafford, Abreigh Stafford and Mia Stafford; and by two brothers Bob McBride and Gary McBride of Chicago, Illinois.

Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home chapel on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Hunt and Rev. Bobby Mouser officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Gospel Assembly Church, 212 West Saint Francis Street Dexter, Missouri 63841.

In Memory of William Albert Barker Jr. (Bill)

On August 25,2021 William Albert Barker Jr. (Bill), loving husband and father of eight children passed  away at the age of 76 at home surrounded by his loved ones. 

William (Bill) Albert Barker  of Dexter, Missouri was born to the late William Barker Sr. and Rachel (McClard) Barker on March 29, 1945 in Dexter, Missouri. Bill served in the Air Force from 1963-1968. On August 19, 1976 he married Frances Seebuger and raised five daughters and three sons.

Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on cars. He was a member of the Elks and the Eagles

Surviving Bill  is his wife Frances Barker of Dexter, Missouri; three sons Billy (Heather) Barker, Dustin (Hannah) Barker and Ryan Barker all of Dexter Missouri; six daughters Tonda Reeves of Searcy, Arkansas, Rachel (Scott) March of Dexter, Missouri, Sandy Barker of Dexter, Missouri, Michele (Chris) Morgan of Jefferson, Wisconsin and Christy (Wade) Oldham of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters Wanda Chambers of Lewiston, Illinois and Angelyn Jackson of Athens, Alabama one honorary daughter Kathy (Ricky) Hagy of Corning, Arkansas; sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren and one on the way and many nieces and nephews, cousin an a host of family and  friends also survive. Bill was preceded in death by his father William mother Rachel, three sisters Virginia Fithian, Marjorie Edwards, Pearl Swinger, one granddaughter Heather Evans, one honorary daughter Serena Smith. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 1, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday September 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Bobby Rodney McLean Sr

Bobby Rodney McLean Sr. of Lakeland, Florida was born to the late Rodney and Edith (Scudder) McLean on October 17, 1934 in Keiser, Arkansas and passed away on August 23, 2021 in Lakeland, Florida at the age of 86 years.  

Bobby had been a resident of Lakeland, Florida for 17 years he also lived in Dupo, Illinois and Cahokia, Illinois.  He was a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force for 20 years and work for the United States Post Office for 20 years.  He was a member of North Side Assembly of God in Lakeland, Florida.  He enjoyed embroidery, making quilts, playing golf and wood carving.  

On October 19, 1957 he married Shirley Bennett they were for 43 years until she passed away in November of 2000. October 03, 2004 he married Martriess Russom in St. Augustine, Florida.    

Surviving Bobby three sons Bobby (Terri) McLean Jr. of Desoto, Missouri, Roger (Careth) McLean of Dupo, Illnois and Terry (Kim) McLean of Columbia, Illinois; one daughter Tonda (Randy) Lindhorst of Columbia, Illinois; three step daughters Kim Russom, Tessie (Larry) Kirkland and Whitney (Brad) Oliva; five grandchildren Rodney McLean, Ashley (Josh) Schuerman, Lacey McLean, Kyle (Ashley) Mattingly and Kelly (Robert) Mathews; five step grandchildren Justin Fritz, Amber (David) Rowland, Austin Myers, Wesley Oliva and Mackenzie Oliva; nine great grandchildren Charity Schuerman, Joshua Schuerman, Phoebe Schuerman, Jace Schuerman, Maverick McLean, Nora Mathews , Lane Mathews, Sawyer Mattingly and Greer Mattingly; four step great grandchildren Jacob Rowland, Addison, Rowland, Blake Rowland and Payton Fritz; two brothers Johnny (Barbara) McLean of Keiser Arkansas and Danny (Suzie) McLean of Arkansas.  Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Shirley McLean; three brothers Bill McLean, Gary (Reba) McLean and Mickey (Lavern) McLean.  A host of family and  friends also survive.   

Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 31, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 31, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Bennett of Farmington, Missouri officiating at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Interment will follow in the Puxico City Cemetery with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
