In Memory of Lee Roy Lane

Lee Roy Lane was born on December 6th 1935 in Moorehouse, Missouri to George and Effie Wyman Lane, and passed away July 30th 2021 in Flint Michigan.

He grew up in the Southeast Missouri Area and farmed with his father on what was once known as the Fisher Plantation.

Lee went into the Army’s 21st Infantry as a young man and was stationed in France and Germany.

Upon return to Dexter, Lee got a job with the International Shoe Company where he met and married Glinda Jarrell at the Trotter Church near Essex in 1963.

Upon the closure of the Shoe Factory, Lee went to Flint, Michigan and eventually obtained a job with General Motors where he worked until he retired.

He returned to Dexter to live for many years before returning to Flint. He had many friends during his time in Dexter where he attended the Risen Church and sang in the choir

He is preceded in death by his wife Glinda, his daughter, and sisters Ruth Baker, Barbara Frost, Judy Morlan and a granddaughter Alice Delgado.

He is survived by two sons, Larry and Stanley Douglas, and three sister-in-laws, Mildred, Vera, and Melba Jean Jones, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lee enjoyed playing music and going to Church. He led a good Christian life and will be welcomed into the arms of the Lord.

He will be buried at Sadlers Chapel Cemetery, where he once served on the Board.

There will be a graveside and memorial service at Sadlers Chapel Cemetery at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 28 and a service will follow at Sadlers Chapel.

In Memory of Betty “Tiny” Grubbs

Betty “Tiny” Grubbs, daughter of the late Willie Willard Cheatham and Vera Sanders Cheatham, was born on September 3, 1941, in Manilla, Arkansas, and departed this life on August 23, 2021, at her residence in Essex, Missouri, at the age of 79 years.

Mrs. Grubbs was a member of the Church on the Rock in Morehouse, Missouri. She enjoyed going to church and gardening.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanie (Enos) Hill of Essex, Missouri; by three sons, David Grubbs, Terry Mark (Beth) Grubbs, and Randy (Rhonda) Grubbs, all of Sikeston, Missouri; by seven brothers and sisters, Jean Burkett of Lindale, Texas, Annie Simpson of Manila, Arkansas, Betty Jones of Dexter, Missouri, Calvin Arnold, Shirley McIntyre, and Ronnie Cheatham, all of Sikeston, Missouri, and Teresha Harris of Bloomfield, Missouri; by fourteen grandchildren, Rena Wiley, Barbara Johnston, Davie Grubbs, Corey Grubbs, Chad Grubbs, Josh Grubbs, Shandi Grubbs, Jonathan Hankins, Chelsea Grubbs, Travis, Grubbs, Brianna McRoy, Bryson McRoy, Jackie Imlerzundel, and Shawn Edwards; and by twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Margie Denton, Johnny Cheatham, Jack Cheatham, Boyce Cheatham, Tommy Cheatham, Mary Griffin, and Virginia Wright.

Graveside services will be conducted at Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri, on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Curtis True officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Church on the Rock, Highway 60 W, Morehouse, Missouri 63868

In Memory of Norma Marie Corbin

Norma Marie Corbin, daughter of the late Enos Zimmerman and Ethel Faye Thompson Zimmerman, was born on December 9, 1925, in Bloomfield, Missouri, and departed this life on August 23, 2021, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at the age of 95 years.

Mrs. Corbin was a member of the Risen Church in Dexter, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Rebecca Lodge.

On May 26, 1945, in Benton, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Charles Russell Corbin. Mr. Corbin preceded her in death on March 13, 1995.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Corbin Kilby (Steve) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; by three grandchildren, Chad Kilby (Jacob) of Bloomington, Illinois, Brent Kilby of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Ashley Kilby Atwell (Matt) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and by three great-grandchildren, Jacob Kilby, Austin Kilby, and Katelyn Kilby and two step great-grandchildren, Madison Atwell and Peyton Atwell.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Greg Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

In Memory of Terry Wayne Mason

Terry Wayne Mason, son of the late Gerald Mason and Betty Tanner Mason, was born on June 10, 1960 in Dexter, Missouri, and departed this life on August 22, 2021 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 61 years.

Mr. Mason was a former truck driver.

On February 14, 1995, in Bernie, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Ramona Montgomery. Mrs. Mason survives of their home in Dexter.

In addition to his wife, Ramona, he is survived by two step-daughters, Amanda J. Hunsaker of Dexter, and Kristin Hunsaker of Maine; by his brother, Tom Mason of Essex; by two step-brothers, Matt Underhile of Dexter and Chris Underhile of Sikeston; by his sister, Angela Smith of Poplar Bluff; and by his grandchild, Misha Hunsaker.

Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandi Nicole Mason; and by two sisters, Dana Sue Mason and Trenia Lee Mason.

Visitation will be held at the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

A memorial service will then be conducted at the Lighthouse Christian Center on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.

In Memory of Clarence Gene Miller

Clarence Gene Miller, son of the late Lloyd Raymond and Minnie Christine Staggs Miller, was born April 30, 1945, in East Prairie and departed this life on August 22, 2021, in Cape Girardeau at the age of 76 years.

Gene was a mechanic and employed with Raffety Farms for many years and was a member of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.

On December 15, 1973, in Mississippi County, he was united in marriage to Barbara Hancock Miller who preceded him in death on June 8, 2011.

He is survived by three sons, Billy Miller, Chris Miller and Tim Miller all of East Prairie; one daughter, Rhonda Linebaugh of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Stanley Miller of Bertrand; five sisters, Delores Houseman of Bertrand, Carlene Summerfield of East Prairie, Melinda Sweeney of Dexter, Becky Miller of East Prairie and Sandy Rushing of Blodgett; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Other than his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Joyce Siars and Pat Lowry.

Visitation will be held at Full Gospel Church in East Prairie on Wednesday August 25, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. with Bro. Eric McGruder officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Loomes, Robert Easley, Jared Vines, Josh Rodgers, Floyd Aters Jr., Devon Linbaugh and Randy Vines. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Aters and Daelin Loomes.
