In Memory of Danny Ray Kirkman

Danny Ray Kirkman, son of Jo Kirkman Burleson and the late Jerry Owens, was born on July 7, 1966, in Dexter, Missouri, and departed this life on August 19, 2021, in Dexter at the age of 55 years.

Mr. Kirkman was formerly a machine operator for Faurecia in Dexter, as well as an officer at SECC. He was a fan of classic cars, sports cars, and Corvettes. He enjoyed trout fishing at Bennett Springs, photography, cooking, the outdoors, and riding Harley motorcycles.

On July 1, 1989, in Bloomfield, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Regina Marie Latimore. They moved to Springfield and Regina finished school at Missouri State University. After several years they returned to the Southeast Missouri area to assist their aging family. They had common interests and enjoyed each other’s company.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Marie Latimore Kirkman of Sikeston; by his mother, Jo Burleson of Dexter; by his brother, Martin Risse Jr. of St Louis; by his sister, Anna Risse of Fairfield, Maryland; by his aunt, Sharon Kirkman of Dexter; by three nieces, Abby Risse, Lilly Risse and Conner Moore; by two nephews, Bradley Risse and Colten Moore; and by his great-nephew, Carson Moore and great-niece, Jayda Shafer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Owens and by his step-father, Earl Burleson; by his grandmother, Ruth Sprinkle; and by his brother-in-law, David Glin Moore.

Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

A celebration of Danny’s life will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel in Dexter on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Choate officiating.
