Brenda Kay Hampton, daughter of the late Ervin Hampton and Joy Riggins Hampton, was born on May 7th, 1968 in St. Louis Missouri and departed this world August 6th, 2021 at her residence in Dudley, Missouri at the age of 53 years old.
Brenda spent most of her working career in the food service industry. Most people in the area have been served by her friendly smiling face sometime at one establishment or the other. She started working at the local hangout Teen Town while in High School. She then worked at Fisherman’s Net in Wappapello and then moved on to a very long career with Mel’s Diner. Melba and Nicole and the ladies were like a second family to her. She later worked at Don’s Place and Cracker Barrel. She had recently begun a new career as a Tupperware Consultant. She loved the fact that online sales connected her to people across the United States and was always excited when she sold to someone in a new state.
Brenda enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She grew to love Volleyball when her daughter Mandy was playing in school. Many days were spent along with her Mom rooting the Puxico Indians on to victory. The volleyball spark was rekindled when Granddaughters, Natalie and Aubree Jean, began playing. She also enjoyed watching Aubree Jean and her Grandson Waylon shoot some hoops in basketball and swing for the fence at the baseball field.
She is survived by her daughter, Mandy Powell and husband Eric of Puxico, father Red Lynch of Dudley, two sisters, Linda Hull and husband Lloyd, Sharon Phillips and husband David of Puxico. Three grandchildren, Natalie, Waylon, and Aubree Jean, two nephews, Zach Hull and wife Payton, Dalton Phillips, and great-nephew Avery Hull. Her best friend Cindy Abbott of Fisk, her special cousins Tammy Clark of Bloomfield, L.J. Riggins of Puxico, and special companion, Raymond Deaton of Wappapello. She was also survived by numerous family and friends.
