Gary Lee Kastner, son of the late Emanuel Kastner and Lola Eason Kastner, was born on October 21, 1946, in Bloomfield, Missouri, and departed this life on July 21, 2021, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri, at the age of 74 year.
When Gary was a young boy, his mother, Lola, passed away. His father remarried and he was raised by his mother, June Kastner.
Mr. Kastner was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He was a former employee of Arvin Meritor in Dexter. He was a member of the Church of God in Dexter and a resident of Dudley, Missouri.
On May 31, 1969, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Karen James. Mrs. Kastner survives of their home in Dudley.
In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by his daughter, Terra Minor and husband Larry of Moberly, Missouri; by three sisters, Peggy Kirkbride of Dexter, Missouri, Renda Burton of Dexter, Missouri, and Terre Walker of Bernie, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Nia Kastner, Kaylee Smith, Payton Smith, and Coty Minor, and by one great-granddaughter, Anna Lee Kastner.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Eason Kastner; by his father, Emanuel Kastner; by his mother, June Kastner; and by two brothers, Jim Walker and Richard Walker.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. Interment will follow on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.
