In Memory of Eunice Alma Sitz

Eunice Alma Sitz, daughter of the late Elmer Walker and Daisey Cox Walker was born on May 15, 1919, in Bloomfield, Missouri and departed this life on June 27, 2021, at the Evergreen Living Center in Saint Ignace, Michigan at the age of 102.

Mrs. Sitz had been a member of the Oak Ridge General Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a former resident of Bloomfield, currently living in Saint Ignace, Michigan.

She was united in marriage to Carl Sitz on February 22, 1938, in Bloomfield, Missouri. Mr. Sitz preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Richard Sitz and wife Janet of Cedarville, Michigan and Darrol Sitz and wife Charlotte of Benton, Arkansas; by two grandchildren, Darin D. Sitz and Karl V. Sitz; and by two great-grandchildren, Anna M. Sitz and Brandon V. Sitz.

Other than by her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Jewell Walker Cagle, Ida Lee Walker Rampley and Beulah Walker Riles.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, July 3, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Dexter Cemetery.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Clint Robert Montgomery

Clint Robert Montgomery, son of Barbara Mason Montgomery of Dexter, Missouri and the late Philip Montgomery was born on April 22, 1968 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on June 25, 2021 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 53.

Mr. Montgomery was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the 82nd Airborne Division during Operation Desert Storm. He had worked at PAR IV Farms and was a 1986 graduate of Dexter Senior High School. He had attended the Lighthouse Christian Center and was a resident of Dexter.

Other then by his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Leah Davis and husband Tim of Texas; by two brothers, Wesley Montgomery of Dexter, and Kevin Brents and wife Deana of Dudley, Missouri; by two sisters, Ramona Mason and husband Terry of Dexter, and Tammy Kanavel of Front Royal, Virginia; and by a special friend, Jackie Rinck of Dexter.

Visitation will be conducted on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021 in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.

In Memory of Alice Marie (Johnson) Barr

Alice Marie (Johnson) Barr, 86, passed away June 27, 2021, in Jackson, MO. 

Alice was born December 10, 1934, in Fair Oaks, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Myrtle Johnson.

On March 13,1954, Alice married Carl Ray Barr. She started her work life picking cotton, and later worked in various factories, retiring from Inland Shoe.  As a homemaker, she stayed busy cooking, canning, and crocheting. In her later years, she discovered new interests, including reading, social media, and parasailing. 

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Carl; infant daughter Catherine Mary; siblings Edward, Lois, Arley, Harley, Ernest, Wilma, Ruby, Patsy, and Carol; and two grandchildren. 

She is survived by her sons Richard (Tina) Barr, Jackson, MO; Mark (Sandra) Barr, Jackson, MO; Paul (Tressa) Barr, Advance, MO; her daughters Carla (Billy) Robinson, Advance, MO; Patricia (Mike) Baker, Millersville, MO; and Kimberly (Brad) Fowler, St. Joseph, MO; her brothers Charles, Benjamin, and Michael; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She enjoyed her 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. 

Her ready ear and loving heart will be dearly missed.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.

Arrangements are under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, MO.

In Memory of Bobbie Gene Jackson

Bobbie Gene Jackson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri formerly of Bloomfield, Missouri was born to the late John Franklin and Mammie Evelyn Carrol Jackson on November 11, 1939 in Anniston, Missouri and passed away on June 21, 2021 in the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Bobbie had been a resident of  California for years and moved to Stoddard County, Missouri where he was a resident of Bloomfield for 75 years before going to the Missouri Veteran's Home. He worked as a superintendent for Bellding Wallbridge Company, he was a lifetime Eagles, Elks, Masonic VFW member and amvets, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and BBQ for his family and friends.

Bobbie remarried Dolly Dimple Dunning on June 13, 2015 in Dexter, Missouri and she precedes him in death on July 3, 2015. 

Surviving him are his daughters Melissa Lewis of Spokane, Washington and Monica Williamson of  Dudley, Missouri; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two sisters Carrie Sue (Jackson) Esparza, Bethalto, Illinois, Doris L. (Jackson) Esparze, St. Louis, Missouri, many nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Dolly, four brothers Oliver, Cletus, Charlie, Billy Jackson; one sister Georgia Jackson Kokumboo; daughter Starla Kay Mairs, and three daughters in infancy  Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 28, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
