Stoddard County, MO - Kay Asbell, Stoddard County Recorder, is now offering a new avenue to apply for a marriage license in Stoddard County.
Residents can still apply in person at the Recorder's Office in Bloomfield, but now residents can apply online.
Residents can fill out an application on the website then go to the Recorder's Office. A form of government issued ID will still have to be presented in person.
Filling out the application on the website will reduce the exposure time with other people due to the new COVID-19 virus.

Marriage License Filing Requirements
The 1st Party and 2nd Party must:
Visit the county Recorder's office together to apply for a marriage license.
Be 18 years of age or over. With parental consent, a person can marry at sixteen. A person 21 and over cannot marry anyone under the age of eighteen.
Present a valid government issued ID in English and provide Social Security number.
Payment is required at the time of application (when visiting the office). Please check with the county on the payment types accepted at that county.
Pick up and give the license to the person performing the ceremony before the wedding.
Have a ceremony performed within 30 days from the date of issuance in the State of Missouri. If the wedding date is more than 30 days from the date of application, they must wait to pick up the license.
NOT be related to each other through and including first cousins.
Route NN in Stoddard County will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews overlay the roadway.
This section of roadway is located from Route FF to County Road 570.
Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, May 3 through Wednesday, May 5 from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. The route will be open to local traffic only.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ Campaign Will Target Substance–Impaired Drivers.
Dexter, Missouri - Local and state law enforcement will be out in full force as part of the annual nationwide Youth Alcohol Enforcement Crackdown substance–impaired driving crackdown. The crackdown, which will include high-visibility enforcement throughout Dexter, will run from April 30th – May 9th.
Although it is illegal in all 50 States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico to drive impaired (having a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or higher), far too many people across the nation get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or other illegal drugs. The latest statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration underscore the serious nature of the nation’s continuing drunk driving epidemic.
“We want to remind everyone that getting behind the wheel impaired is a terrible idea. Unfortunately, not only does being under the influence impair your ability to operate a vehicle safely, but it also impairs your judgment and good sense about whether you can or should drive. If you have any doubt about your sobriety, do not get behind the wheel. If you do choose to drive impaired, you will be arrested. No warnings. No excuses,” Chief Trout said.
“Driving while impaired is simply not worth the risk. So, do not take the chance. Remember, we will be out in force and we will be watching, so ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,’” said Chief Trout.

to Plant 110,000 Trees
