Student Accepted to Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine Summer Camp

Dexter, MO - Mauriona “Mo” Menley, a 6th grade student at TS Hill Middle School has been accepted to the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine Camp for the 2021 Summer Session.

Being accepted into the MSU Vet Camp is very competitive. The school receives hundreds of applications for a small, select number of slots. Mo was required to compete in the application process including letters of recommendation, an essay, and current grade submission.

Each summer, MSU CVM offers a series of fun, educational camps specifically for students with dreams of becoming a veterinarian, scientist or working in an animal-focused career. MSU Vet Camp is a hands-on experience led by actual veterinary medicine professors with the assistance of current veterinary students. Each experience provides engagement in all aspects of animals, even from the view of a veterinarian, including microbiology, radiology, and an array of other real-life aspects of a career caring for animals.

Mo is pictured here with Scott Kruse, the principal at the middle school in Dexter.
