Dexter High School - This listing of weekly activities is a service offered by the ShowMe Times, working in partnership with Dexter High School Asst. Principal Melissa Hahn for your convenience.

2021 Dexter Summer School Enrollment Information

Dexter R-XI School District will offer summer school for students entering kindergarten through 9th grade. The summer school program will be open to any student who wants to attend. The program will focus on extra learning opportunities in the areas of reading, mathematics, and communication arts. Several activities are planned to enhance the summer school program.

High School credit is a different program, students will receive information from the High School Counselors.

All elementary students should have a letter and bus route information sent home. You may refer to their letter to help answer some of the questions on the Google Enrollment Form.

Summer school will begin on Wednesday, May 26 and end on Wednesday, June 23. The school day will begin with free breakfast from 7:15 a.m. to 7:45. School will dismiss at 2:00 p.m.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge.

Breakfast will be served daily from 7:15 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.

Buses will run on designated routes only. The routes are outlined and attached to this letter. Please read through each route and choose the one closest to your location. You may take your student to meet one of the buses or drop off and pick up at school.

If you plan on your child attending summer school: Please complete the online registration before March 26. All students registered after March 26 may be added to a waiting list. Online registration can be found here:

Dexter School Board Meeting Minutes - March 23, 2021

Dexter, MO - The Dexter School Board met for a regular meeting on March 23, 2001 at 6 p.m. The Regular Board Meeting Notes from Superintendent Amy James are below.

1. Call to Order

3. Pledge

The Board President announced the meeting is to begin, ascertains the attendance status of all board members.  Six members of the board were present, with Mr. Morse being absent.  The board President leads in the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance. 

4.  Consent Agenda:  The consent agenda was approved.

5.  Public Comments:  There were no public comments made.    

6.  Old Business:  There was no old business to discuss. 

7.  New Business: 

A.  The board approved the purchase of a 3rd bus from Midwest Transit Equipment at the cost of $99,980.    

B.  The board approved the 2021-2022-Dexter High School course scheduling handbook.   

8.  Discussion Items: 

The following items were discussed with the board:

A. 2021 Municipal Election Date: April 6th, the BEC will be used as a polling place.  

B. Principal’s Reports

C. Nurse’s Report

D.  Superintendent’s Report 

E. Next Regular Board Meeting is April 20, 2021.  

In Closed Session:

Dexter, Missouri - The 2021 National Honor Society Induction Ceremony was held on Monday, March 22nd in the auditorium at the Dexter High School. 

Candles were lit during the ceremony representing the four core values of the National Honor Society: Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service.

Chapter officers are Layne Medler, presidents; Chloe Thurmon, vice president; Damon Stearns, secretary; McKayla Annesser, treasurer; Ryder Boles, service coordinator; and Tara Williams, historian.

National Honor Society Pledge: I pledge to uphold the high purposes of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected; I will be true to the principles for which it stands: and will maintain and encourage the high standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

The previously inducted members of the Dexter Chapter of the National Honor Society are McKayla Annesser, Emily Battles, Ryder Boles, Jaycee Chappell, Andrew Ellinghouse, Evan Grobe, Kaylee Honeycutt, Makenzie Hutson, Alanie Lacy, Layne Medler, Payton Phelan, Hannah Pyles, Damon Stearns, Chloe Thurmon, Justin Viers, Tara Williams and Bronwen Young.
